All i do is stunt my z400.....little drag raicng once in a while also...my question is does riding wheelies **** your chain up? my chain seems to be loose now for some reason....im juts going to tight it up and be done....but i have herd that riding wheelies on motorcycles stretches your chain....does this also apply to quads?

do you wash it every time you ride? It might stretch it but who cares buy a new one if it does

 

Your bike is new....New Chains stretch....Perfectly normal. Just tighten it up and you should be set

 

chains are disposable. they stretch, no matter what you do. Just normal riding will stretch them, unless your running like a 530 chain on a Baby Raptor. Clean 'em, tighten 'em, and when you can't tighten 'em no more, replace 'em. Both sprockets at the same time, as well as the chain.

 

Strech is normal. So you don't over streach it, you should set the tension on it properly. I'm sure it's almost the same for all sport quads, but the 400ex calls for 1 1/3- 1 1/2 inches of slack while the bike is sitting on it's own with no weight on it. If it's any tighter your just going to keep over streaching it until the chain is shot.

Speaking of that I get a ton of gas out of my overflow. A lot more than I have seen from most other peoples quads.....It just pours out. Any tips of reducing the amount of gas I waste? I tried rerouting my overflow line so it was a little bit higher up, but every time I would wheelie it would stall. A friend suggested a different type of carb, but like I said, I see a lot of people wheeling and not having as much of a problem.

Any ideas?

lower the float level. which overflow, the one on the top of the tank, or the one on the carborator? if it's the carb, lower the float level until it stops. if it's the one on top of the tank, buy a new gas cap.

 

Thanks, it's the one on the carb. I've never lowered the float in a carb before, just done jetting and stuff....I'll see if I can figure it out.
