Re: The Venom600 Bike search thread

Found an f4i, its just above my range still. The guys been trying to sell it for about a month, though.

If I can get the money, or he lowers the price a little, what do you guys think?

Re: The Venom600 Bike search thread

$3800 is a bit high for a bike that needs that kind of work IMO. You can fix the upper but you probably wont get a great paint match on it. Dents in the tank, its been wrecked obviously.

Re: The Venom600 Bike search thread

Well anything I buy, im going to paint so color match doesnt matter. In another post, he said the dent is from the bike falling over in his truck, or something like that.

Tell him its worth 3000 with the damages. The bikes needs body repair and paint and its going to cost 1000 bucks.

Re: The Venom600 Bike search thread

For just a street bike, how good are 98-02 zx6rs? I've seen a couple in my price range and I like the way they look. I know they are carburated, but would it be an ok bike for the street?

This is the one im looking at,

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/mcy/701736102.html

no pics but its close, i'll look at it and take pics myself and the price is negotiable.

Re: The Venom600 Bike search thread

I went to go look at it. As soon as I got there, he dropped the price to 2300. It has race plastics on it that are not painted, but he has yellow stock plastics, too. All wiring is still intact and it has a taillight. All it needs is the carbs cleaned and a headlight and mirrors. The shop its at will clean the carbs for $300 but can anyone do it for less?

Calling Jamie....lol... team mechanic

2300, cant go wrong if ya ask me

Parts for them are all over also, might be cheaper to buy a set of used carbs and just swap em out.

Re: The Venom600 Bike search thread

he supposedly has someone wanting to buy the frame and motor off him as a package. they are trying to talking him down $150 from his asking price (which he doesn't seem too happy about). i'm sure if you had cash in hand at his door it's yours.

Re: The Venom600 Bike search thread

The bike ingy posted was an f4. he listed it as an f4i but thats the one darrick and I went to go look at and it turned out to be an f4. I really have no way of knowing if the 02 zx6r just has a carb problem. I dont want to buy a bike without test riding it and then find out something else is wrong. Jamie will help me out with the carbs if I find out thats all it needs. He also does not have all the other fairings and lights and everything that I was told he has. Theres a 98 zx6r for 2K that as far as I know is running. Its a race bike but all wiring is intact and may only need lights and mirrors.

Re: The Venom600 Bike search thread

Right now im looking at two zx6r's: an 02 and a 98. WIth the 02, the guy is offering I leave something down on the bike, and take it somewhere where Jamie said he can check the carbs and clean them. If I dont have a running bike still, I can take it back and get my money back. Im pretty tempted but still skeptic. They guy dropped from 3k to 2300 as soon as I went to look at it. If I did get it running, all it needs is a headlight and tailight. The 98 zx6r is running with fresh tires. All I would need are lights and mirrors.

Re: The Venom600 Bike search thread

Im going to look at the 98 right now but a guy returned an email on this

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/mcy/747136286.html

said he would take 3k for jsut the bike. The only problem is that would be spending all my money I have to spend (including insurance and what not) on that bike but im going to find out more, it may be worth it.

Re: The Venom600 Bike search thread

Yeah, the F4i is a better bike over the older ZX6's for sure.

Re: The Venom600 Bike search thread

Yeah, but I really dont want to spend all of my money on a bike right now. I went to go look at the zx6r and it looks like a pretty good deal. I like the way they look. It has new tires and runs well. There is nothing wrong with it. The race fairings are primed and it comes with paint. The only thing it needs is a headlight, tailight, mirrors, and kickstand (it comes with a stand, but not a kickstand). On top of all that, he lowered the price to $1850, which means I can have it looking minty and not go broke.

Re: The Venom600 Bike search thread

Finally found my bike! its a 98 zx6r im picking up for 1850. Its not a bike I can stunt but all I want is a street bike and this is a bike I really like for cheap. Now I have to decide how to paint it. Its defanantly going to be blue but id like some kind of black stripes or something. I'll post up pics after I get it. Thanks for all the help and advice.

Sweet, The older ZX6 could be a stuntbike in the future, they are not bad bikes by any means. I'm guessing this means you need some headlights installed and some paintwork?
