I'd restore an 87 Hurricane if it was free.

Re: The Venom600 Bike search thread

I cant decide what to do. Im going to try to go look at the bike and see what it needs today. I know it would need tires, carb cleaning, and a battery, but would probably also need spark plugs front brake rotor, possibly a chain if its rusted, and either new fairings, or just have them painted or both. A project bike would be fun but so would a newer cbr, I just cant find any good deals on a cbr. The best thing i've found is a 97 katana for $2100 in great shape, but its a katana and im not sure how they perform.

If you get a katana for free, and you put $1000 into it and it looks decent and runs fine then you can't lose. You can always sell it and get something else. A newer bike will usually run more than $2400 in decent condition. I heard that someone was selling a streetable stunt bike around here, F4i?

Re: The Venom600 Bike search thread

Dude don not get a katana "AKA Can o Tuna" They suck and they are heavy and weak! real heavy and real weak. They are junk trust me ive owned a couple. plus resale is a beeotch! You would be settling and not happy with it.

I would get a stunt bike, and put some lights on it. Having a street killer is a lot of fun. This is Georgia and they will make almost any bike streetable whether its salvage title or not. I have even heard rumors of certs of destruction coming back on the street with a few inspections. GA Rocks! just my

Re: The Venom600 Bike search thread

I cant get a 600 stunt bike just yet, I just want a street bike. I'll ask the guy about the f4i but I should be going to look at the hurricane today. IT just depends on what the cane needs whether I pick it up or not.

why's that? you know you are just going to want to stunt w/e you buy and will end up trashing it if you dont have a cage on it.

Probably true in the long run. I would invest in the F4i for $1700. The bikes still hold value well, it has 2 sets of race bodywork. Worst case find a frame and swap it out. Clean title F4i with decent bodywork will pull over $3k easy.

True, but I cant get a "stunt bike" right now because of the parents. The f4i looks pretty good and if I got that, it would be turned intio a stunt bike eventually, just not right away.

Re: The Venom600 Bike search thread

The guy with the f4i emailed me back. He said if he doesnt sell by sunday hes keeping, but im not sure why. He didnt answer about wiring but im going to try to go look at it today. Is there anything else I should ask him about? If it is in running condition, why would it be selling for $1700?

Its a track bike with no streetable VIN. Wiring should not be a problem?
