gearing suggestions

i asked in the how to forum and no one seems to be helpin, so i thought i would ask here, since im from the springs

i bought a cruchy f2 to learn with,
i plan on it only being a stunt bike (not trailored to the spot, but ridden there and back only).
i want to learn slow stuff but dont want my top end to be 50 mph,

i was wondering what suggestions people can give me on a sprocket set. (im also at 5800 ft up, so i already lose ~25% power, if that matters)

i was originally thinkin -1 +10, but im not sure, any help would be great,

thanks in advance

Re: gearing suggestions

1 down 10 up would still be streetable, but just barely. If you are currently doing 6000 rpm at 70MPH you will now be doing over 7800 at 70. Another comparison is instead of a top speed of 150, top speed will be around 115. One of the guys who do slow stuff can give you advice on how well that gearing will work there, I am just commenting on the street side.

BTW, you are really only losing about 16% of your power at that altitude. You have to be over 10000 feet to lose 25%

bro i had a 97 750, i had it geared 1down 10 up, it was bearable on the highways , but it got annoying after a long day of riding. it depends on how much highway riding you do. like squirell said if you mostly ride side streets 1d 12u should be cool, but if you want to ride the highways i would think something like 1d 8u just my 2 cents JOEJOE

Re: gearing suggestions

just buy a big rear then if its not enough go down a tooth, like go up 9, that should be fine for highway, then if you want lower gearing later drop a tooth or two and youll be cool
