DAMN...shes hot!!
Re: DAMN...shes hot!!
Also is it a big deal if my headlights dim every time I hit the throttle? Right now I have the headlights hardwired directly to the fuse box so when the bike turns on they turn on. If it's no big deal, I can give two ***** about the dimming. If it's a sign of something, I might need to do something.

Re: DAMN...shes hot!!
God damnit. I hope it's not an expensive fix. I'm a really clueless mechanic. Maybe it has something to do with how the lights wired? Maybe I'm using the wrong gauge or some ****? Right now there's a wire attached directly to the bulb that runs to he fusebox... Then we took a fuse out, stuffed that wire in, and stuck the fuse over it to hold it in.
Re: DAMN...shes hot!!
the stator makes electricity. the spark plugs need electricity to make the spark. the spark ignites the fuel/air in the cylinders, which makes the motor turn.
What youre describing sounds like the spark plugs are running off BATTERY POWER ONLY, which is fine until your battery dies, leaving you stranded somewhere.

The stator cover is easy to check - if it looks mint, its fine.
Voltage regulator is real easy to unplug from a friends bike and test it. Go unplug yours and look and see if the plug is fried, that happens sometimes.
The stator itself is a little harder to replace, but the good news is i know at least 1 or 2 people in the ny thread have a spare stator theyd lend you

its gonna be 1 of 3 parts: stator, stator cover, or voltage regulator/rectifier.

. The covers definitely mint, and maybe one of you guys can help me test my voltage regular thing when I come out in the next couple of weeks. Think I'd make it to LI without dying? The bike starts right up, battery seems strong. Re: DAMN...shes hot!!
I was hoping it could just be a bad battery or the wiring

Like will it drain my battery fast? Re: DAMN...shes hot!!
i got a little bit of a situation here.. I forgot to have breakfast before leaving teh house today. Im now starving and already getting a headache from it. Its pouring outside, and due to new tenants in the building I now have to park half way across a huge parking lot instead of right next to the door where I used to.
So do I go out and get soaked, and eat? Or do I sit here and stay warm and dry, and get a headache that will put me out of commission by mid afternoon?

Re: DAMN...shes hot!!
Hahaha good point. You said that eventually my battery will die leaving my stranded. I know you're not Ms Cleo or anything and we don't even really know what the problem is yet, but do you think I'd make it out there riding if she's running ok now? I haven't rode it for more than an hour yet.
