Yup I have that stick. Is that one electric?

 

I't dosn't take much to break the bead if the force is applied at the right place. It is cheaper and more compact. I've used crowbars and a 5# hammer to break the bead before.

If you have the stick, why can't you do it yourself? All you do it pop a little bit over the lip, then use the other end to just pull it around. It's super easy.

 

Funny **** is I worked at a tire shop changing tires in high school for a few months. I could do a set of 4 tires from raising the lift to lowering it in 15 minutes.

That stick works like poop. I use tire spoons and just keep going around the tire as I have someone hold the first spoon I put in. The Bar that we're talking about doesnt seem like it has a good lip on it to get the tire on. But maybe I'm not doing it right

 

yeah i dont balance stunt rear tires either... but it's still a skill i like to have... and be able to do, cause i HATE taking ANYTHING to dealers... honestly i cont remember the last time a dealer even TOUCHED my bike! LOL

 

I don't think you're doing it right. Next time I'm there, I'll take some instructional pictures.

 

Thats good though, if you're a stunter and you do shows and comps you should be able to fix almost anything on your bike by yourself. Dealers cost to much anyways, I only go there to get free tires. :YEAH

 

i love taking my rims to the dealers and have them change and balance everything

 

If I already have the rims off, I can change and balance both tires in 10 minutes for free. What does the dealer charge?

 

Make friends with peopel that work at the stealerships. I have 2 freinds that work as mechanics at a honda shop, and another friend that works at a parts counter.

At shows i pop my tire... then i bet someone in the crowd $5 that i can change it and have the new one on the bike in 10 minutes... they always say NO WAY, my DEALLER takes longer than that...

Havent lost yet... im sure i will one day i will lose when i hit a snag but it's fun anyways...

 

What's the general markup for a dealer on **** out of a catalog like Tucker Rocky or Parts Unlimited?

 

depends on the item really, maybe 25% ...

 

I was curious how well my "friends" at the dealer were treating me. I get 20% off. I guess they're still making some money off me.
