looks like i need to hold a stoppie/tire changing clinic!

seriously once you learn how to change tires you'll think its a breeze and wonder why you EVER paid to get it done... i can even balace them myself with no special tools...
How does this ballencign thing work. Changing tires is easy, but it is dirty work, like any job dealing with the chain.

I change mine at my buddies shop. It's real easy with his machine. Takes like a minute. I never balance them.

You don't need **** locked down. Sport bike tires are easy as hell. Especially the work down pieces of **** we run.

See above post. All I need is a bead breaker. Driving over it is ghetto and sucks with bent low pros.

you stick a broomstick through the center of the wheel, support it at both ends. then you see where the heavy spot is on the wheel, and weight opposite of it

put it on an axle, suspended somehow... spin slowly, use feel to find heavy spots, add a little weight... repeat... i can now get them to where the comupter balacer says they are balaced or close to it... and you never feel ANY vibration.. i did my own new set of pilot powers on my gix 1000, mounted and balaced in my yard... perfect smooth all the way to 186...

maybe one day after i get back from vegas, or at the Stunt Jam event, i can show you guys and take pics and post them the correct technique... seriously, once you know they are CAKE to change!!!

The vertical post is for leverage. They make a 3-4 ft stick with two different ends on it. One is for removing the tire, one for installing. You just stick it on the lip and pull it around. It's hard to explain but that's how I do it and it's easy as pie.

Changing tires is no problem for me. i've done it in a parking lot with a prybar, a long screwdriver, the factory tool kit I carry, and some water and had soap I stole from a bar. I just don't like driving over a rim I paid $75-150 for and risking bending or gouging the **** out of it.

Looks like I just have to replace the one piece to adapt it for a 17" rim.

This is the machine I use. That stick on the back is the one I'm talking about.

That one looks like it might be a pain in the ***, not as sturdy or as much leverage as the $60 one.

I only ballence my fronts, so for the once a year I change the front I'll pay someone $10 to do it on my lunch break then waste 1/2 an hour of my time that could be used riding.
