yup, looks are very decieving. Next is walmart ****. Some of them say "Shimano equipped" stay away, because if you tear the bike down, the only thing that is shimano is the shifters and the deraillers. nothing else ie: crank, bearing sets, rear sprocket cassette, or hubs.

take the bike back, get your money back, wally world usually gets it back, and go to an actual bike shop and spend some hard earned cash on a real bike.

Man, this thread brings back memories. I had a couple Dyno VFR's, and a Robinson SST. That SST was my favorite bike. I had a GT Air for a while too. I had a funny sticker on my Robinson, it said, "I'd rather push my bike, than ride a Huffy!"

Hey Tony, I'm the guy that swings by you and Kyle's joint who has the Trek MTB that stunts it out. Goto these guys in Pompano, Atlantic Bicycles ( http://www.atlanticbicycle.com/ ) and ask for Santiago. I bought my unicycle from them and have them get all my maint/parts from them when something finally breaks on the Trek. They're on Atlantic just west of 441. Just tell them what you want and how much you want to spend. Santiago knows more about bikes and how to set them up than you would think that anyone would ever need to know. He drops $4k+ on his own bikes for trail riding, etc.

Re: What flatland bikes are good??

This thread brought back the "days". I never had the $$ to rock the Team edition, but i did/still have the GT Pro Frestyle Tour..just can bring myself to part with it. Its still a Moms house..man..the majority of stunters used/still are skaters/flat landers, we just upgrade to bikes with more HP :YEAH

Re: What flatland bikes are good??

I ride a Quamen G5 Bowls frame. One of the best frames you can get. I ride with the owner of FlatlandFuel, so he hooks me up with all of the newest shyt. www.flatlandfuel.com He's got a lot of good deals on the latest stuff. If you are seriously interested in flatland, check out the Hoffman Momentum, the WTP Pony, or the Fly Micromachine. All of these bikes are great for starting off. I've been riding flatland for about 3 years now. My first bike was a haro shredder, which was good for all around stuff, but it wasn't good enough for flatland. You want to find something with a short top tube, and a short rear end. i'd probably say that anything over a 19-19.5" top tube is way to long. I think my Quamen is a 18.5". I'll try to post a pic of my bike sometime. The dayum thing has like $1400 in parts on it. But one last thing - Follow everyone's suggestions on staying away from Walmart or places like that. I go into those places every once in awhile and look at them, and they don't tighten anything up on them, and they are weak in just about every spot on the frame that needs to be strong. Hope I helped in any way for you man. Good Luck with learning flatland.

Check out www.pedalbmx.com for their flatland forums too :YEAH

I heard that quamen is really good
If I ever need a new frame (if I wreck my pony, or if it should get nicked) I'll get myself one

-76.5 degree headtube angle
-18.85 inch top tube
-American bottom bracket
-3/8 inch dropouts

and flatlandfuel has good deals. So check em out Tony..
to bad I dont live in the US (shipping rates)
