Talked to matt... newest update is he had sugery today for his arm and he's starting to regain conciousness. He had said something about buying a porche (which chocha and matt were taking about the day before) which is a good sign that he has some memory. He also said "woops i farted" which is another good sign that shows he's still got his sense of humor, and just rambled about stuff that didn't make any sense.
He'll have to wear a brace for about 6 months in order to sit up, to let his vertabrae heal. He does have bleeding/swelling in the brain but we do not know the extent of it yet.
More updates to come later...

Damn..... that's a damn shame that he got hurt that bad. Be careful people and wear your gear. Shoot, Jim coulda been a lot worse off too if he didn't have his gear on. Hope Rick get's heals up quick and my thoughts to him and his family. Too many crashes this year.
Re: Another Rider Down Today
Ok.. Latest info.. Rick has gained some consciousness.. He is still somewhat out, but has at least opened his eyes and is able to talk a little along with recognizing and acknowledging people. This is prolly the first signs to say the brain swelling and bleeding is passing.. Matt said they may potentially move him from ICU to another room which would allow him to have visitors.. We tried to see him last night, but they restricted things to family only for whatever reason. So things are looking up as compared to earlier in the week, but he still has a very very long road ahead of him.

Some good news... Talked to Ray and Matt today who both spoke with Ricks family or visisted the hospital.. Rick is now conscious and able to speak a bit and recognize people.. Apparently he recognized Matt and told him he really wanted a cigarette... Lol.. So finally something good to here. They will be moving him to another room where his friends can visit.. I think that will happen tomorrow.. I will see him if I can tomorrow and maybe find out any info I may not have heard and give a better low down on what may be to come here in the near future for him.....

What up, what up! I'm back and I'm better than ever. OK maybe not better than ever, but you get the point. It's nice to say that I have alot of great friends and thank you all for coming to see me in the Hospital through these rough times, well the ones I can remember, damn closed head injuries make it difficult to explain. Thank God for helmets, otherwise I'd be a mental case nutjob with some scars on his face. It was a memorable last ride for the season on Orion road. It was great Ray, sorry If I made you think twice about ever riding again. Thanks again for being there for me! Time will pass and wounds heal, well most of them. I was luckythis time; broken collarclavicle-steelplate, fourth vertebrae in my spine-nothing but time, broken left arm-steel fused bar screwed, closed head injury w/brain hemorrage-time and lots of hey remember?destroyed frickin bike and $700 helmet aiee! Anyway, thanks for all the support, I'm still here. Take care of yourselves. Rick
