Re: attn: PAINTERS

I am well aware of how to dent a tank. and yes i've had my a$$ on the tank quite a few times. however i don't do stoppies so maybe that's why it hasn't smushed yet. I have, however, pulled some highchairs and spreaders. I'm 6'4" 220, so maybe i haven't landed hard enough to make the natural dent. I really don't understand why that would be poser, i'm not doing it for NO reason. But i would like it to be clean. I don't do slow stuff, so if i biff it it's going to be a mess. I have a loan on the bike, full coverage ins., and to put it bluntly just stomping on it looks like poo. i'd rather it look semi O.E.. so if i'm willing to pay for it, big deal. i don't own a rat bike, and never will anytime in the near future.

Plain and simple, I want a nice clean bike, with a dented tank. I'm tired of hanging on for dear life, and grip tape ain't gonna cut it.

now then, anybody on this board able to do this?

P.S. Crazy Dan's a$$ didn't do that a body shop did.

"here you go...

check out the tank... its all filled in PERFECTLY smooth... Not a hammer dent job there... a professional body shop dented tank! lol MINT!" -SHUGGA

why hate on a guy for going the extra mile? Is it so terrible that i want to keep a $10,000 investment looking good, while still performing purposeful modifications? Damn

Nah, that's expensive because of the liability. I might accidentally make you 6'5", then you'd need all new clothes..

Re: attn: PAINTERS

I do a lot of paint jobs on bikes in in northern ohio. I work at a collision shop close to cleveland, Oh. I have done a kanatuna in all mystic paint and a 92' CBR 600 f2 in a deep black with mystic highlights. My digital camera is down or I would send u a picture. Let me know exactly what u want painted and Ill throw u aprice. We use all DuPont materials here so its top of the line ****. As far as the tank denting. ..dont waste your money and do it yourself with a rubber hammer or wrap a small sledge with a thick towel and go to town on it. If interested drop me an email or pm me... masterautocoach@netzero.net Thanks, Chris

Re: attn: PAINTERS

I apologize if i come off as testy or edgy. however, i don't enjoy being talked to like a dumbshi+. I am fully aware of the stunting/pretty bike issue. that is why i have never called myself a stunter. Having a good looking bike is something i see as a neccessity currently. Thus, why i do not take part in stoppies etc. in my opinion a wheelie has a much better survival rate than a stoppie.

I've put 15,000 miles on two different bikes since feb. 2003 (8,000-SV650S,7,000-gsxr1000). and yes the sides of my tires wear out before the middle, and no i don't have a chicken strip. I'd say i have a pretty good handle on this shi+.

I gotta say that you guys all seemed pretty cool at your last meeting. So i won't hold grudges, be an internet blackbelt, etc. But i gotta say that this holyer than thou attitude you guys are throwing my way sucks. If you can't fathom why i would go about something in an unusual manner, I can respect that, but to call me a "poser" without ever having ridden with me, that's pretty bold.

have a swell day.

I dont think any one realized you were actually doing wheelies and **** or whatever... Ya know? I honestly dont think anyone here was trying to start ****.. They were just giving advice on the best way to dent up a tank, which obviously wont work for you if you dont pull stoppies and ****.. Trust me.. Dont ever take **** personally on this board.. Smart *** is a way of life in this club....

I understand that, but if i am put in a spot where i feel as though i need to defend myself, i will do so. maybe, because the only thing i do more than ride, is sleep, my people skills have gotten a bit dusty. I don't feel like anyone was attacking me, just belittling.

if i was taking it personally I would have just said screw these guys, i'm out.

Re: attn: PAINTERS

There was a guy out in R.O. last thursday we went down to the spot with. He had grip tape but it was cut in a flame pattern and looked pretty sick. Thinking of a black bike with a black griptape done in some pattern would actually look good. He said hes had his on for over 2 yrs and it didnt peel up or anything. Just another option for ya.

Could always put it on a trailer, strap it down and well JUMP!
