I just finished taking the 2 weekend at Macomb . . . I don't recommend it (way overcrowded, instructors made us wait waayyyyy too long to take our tests). Here's a good link through WCC of class info . . . http://www.washtenaw.cc.mi.us/motorcycle/class_info.php
Also, ABATE of Michigan always has good information.

There's all kinds of places, all the community colleges have them. The Harley dealerships have classes too, on Buell's, but they don't start till June.

Sorry to say, but the MSF course is about your best bet. They supply the bikes and teach you everyhting you should know to survive the streets. Its going to take time even after you pass the class.
Someone told me you get a break on your insurance also when you pass the course.. not sure about that part though?? Anyone know?

Yeah the msf course is crowded but they have a lot of instructers and they put you in groups morning and afternoon. I liked the msf class I learned a lot!! The bad thing is you have to register early cause the class gets full fast!

I haven't taken MSF, but isn't there some kinda paperwork you'd have to turn into your insurance? If they even check?

:YEAH Progressive requires proof of MSF completion for thier discount. When I first took the course, I had to send in a copy of my completion card that they give you. Then they automatically gave me the discount for a few years. Its been a good 10 years since I've taken the course, and they said I had to take it again for the discount.
I'll be in the performance based class on May 18 at Schoolcraft. www.schoolcraft.cc.mi.us, click on continuing ed, then motorcycle safety class. That should bring up a schedule. The beginners class is full until around August, but the May 18 performance based is still open.
