I loved my GSX-R 750.....that was my first street bike...I rode on dirt since I was 4 though....it had enough power to hang with ny liter bike and was alot tamer......still gobs more power than any 600 I ran with

I've been street ridin just over ten years now, and I've always rode on a 600. I've ridin other bikes but I prefer the lighter weight and better handling of a 600. They don't have the power that the bigger c.c bikes do, but there's still plenty there to have fun with.

Ever try to race a mustang with 5 guys in the car? 200lbs is rough on a small cc bike.. in my opinion Regardless if you dump in the first year, you will pry get used to the feel of the bike and want something with more power. My first was a Honda 900RR. Sure enough I went down in the first year but I only paid 5k for a one year old bike. Might want to check out a few auctions for some bikes.

I'd say stick with a 600, a liter bike will magnify your mistakes ten fold. If you get on a 600 coming out of a corner hard, you should stay planted. On a liter bike, you could easily get wheel spin, wind up in a low side or worse high side. IMO, a 600 is plenty fast for the street. I could see getting something bigger to stunt on, for low end torque, but that requires a fair amount of experience.

I started out on a 50/60 hp Yamaha Seca II, which was my first bike ever. Moved up to a F4i last year, now in my 3rd year of riding. Couldn't be happier with it. I keep up with gix 1000's and 954's no prob for normal riding and expressway runs. I just can't pull up the wheel at 75mph as easily as they can, which in my case is a good thing.

You'll probably come out a better rider if you start on a 600 as well. You have to work with the bike a little more to be fast, which will teach you better skills.

HAHAHA.. Yes you do, but I bet you can't get 10,500 out of a stock 207.. Sometimes, it just pays to be a midget....

Oh yeah, you planning on ever having a passenger? A bigger bike will help support the extra weight and give a better ride. Unless of course you've got a 95lb spinner
