Yeah helemts protect and all, but that choice should be made by the one taking the risk not the government...
That fact that there is more talk about it really doesnt matter any way... Granholm said she was going to VETO it when and if it got to her dumbass anyway.

Sorry Brandy.. It has no bearing on the bike.. I cracked my melon more times in the 4 months I parking lot pimped my fiddy, than the 5 years I have been riding sportbikes on the streets...
Re: No Helmet Law
Everyone should have a choice whether they want to wear a helmet or not just like you should be able to decide if you want to wear a seat belt or not. The problem is that there are not enough smart people who can make these decisions for themselves.

Ive seen some very good deals on new arai Rx-7s on ebay lately... My suggestion would be to go try one on somewhere.. compare the sizes by model, and then hit up ebay..

okay im gonna be a ***** cause im just bout ****in sick of idiots.....
1.)it has no bearing on the type of bike
2.) doesnt matter where you are riding
3.) and no difference if you've been riding one month or 25 years
the fact is other people arent going to be paying attention to you....a semi pulling over on you in heavy traffic, an old lady that shouldve given up her license along time ago, another rider who decides to slam on his brakes........**** happens whether you're prepared or not........start riding and you'll know what i mean.

I have to fully agree with you on this. I bought my first bike in 99 and before my first payment was due, I had a pickup truck turn right in front of me because he was blinded by the setting sun and didnt see any oncoming traffic. After a month in the hospital and 5 months of rehab, I was able to gain all functions back but without a helmet, it would of been the end. If your a great experienced rider, then yes maybe you dont need a helmet on a closed course where others cant cause your accident, but on the road, there are way to many old drivers, drunk drivers, and flat out idiots. But yet i still think the choice should be yours.

1.) YES! type of bike matters and what you are doing on that bike.
2.) YES! opposed to the city full of idiots driving around or open road where you can just RIDE, i.e. basically all the ex: you gave for reasons to have a helmet on.
3.) YES! if you are just starting out, you dont have the exp. to watch out for other people on the road.
and why are you getting so worked up about this, its pretty much the RIDERS decision to wear a lid, just like it should be the drivers decision to wear a seat belt...
, i have riden before... and i know what you mean about the idiots on the road.
Re: No Helmet Law
I have to disagree here, Brandy. Do you think that you are less likely to crash if you're riding, say, a Harley Sportster than a Gixxer 1000? It depends on who's riding the bike, and how they ride. If it has 2 wheels, you can still lay it down. Look- the simplest way to end all of this drama is this:
We know that motorcycles are inherintly dangerous, but the love of riding outweighs the potential dangers associated with our hobbies.
We know that we cannot control every aspect of what happens once we leave our driveways, and we accept those risks.
It is my opinion that people have the full right to choose what they want to do with themselves, I never stated otherwise, just gave my opinion of why I will always wear a helmet. There are too many veriables to control, so I try to stack the odds in my favor as much as possible by always wearing a helmet, jacket, gloves, pants, and boots. If someone here disagrees with this, that is their privelage, and it doesn't make either of us wrong. There are good and bad points to both arguments, but the fact is that I'm not changing my beliefs, and neither is anyone who disagrees with them. I say *** the drama.....let's just agree to disagree and move on.
