Re: No Helmet Law

All i have to say is let it pass let us make that decision. The government only put the seatbelt law in effect for one reason, MONEY! They talk a good game but they are getting a little out of control trying to control everything we do that might cause us harm. We are all adults and we should have a choice on what we do with our lives. Soldiers dont die for this country to protect our government they die for this country to protect our freedoms!!

Re: No Helmet Law

^^^ Thank you very much for saying this the government and the state have way to much control over everything we do its funny when your a teenager you cant drink or smoke and have all sorts of rules let me ask what the hell is the point of being an adult the rules just get worse and the fines are more people in this country are over ran by government notice most political figures are payed pretty well and i dont think it cause thier anuall salary either its all politics including why we must wear helmets insurance companies dont want it and no one said when this law passes if this law passes that u dont have to wear one you if your not comfortable not wearing it then gladly put it on we should still have the choice not the politicians

Re: No Helmet Law

I agree with you that the government has too much power... but honestly, u guys are looking at is as thought its not going to affect you... WEll, anyone on here thats getting butt raped on insurance like i am (because i'm so young) if this law passes, you can expect the cost to go waaaaay up.... both bike insurance and health insurance. For thos of you that have jobs to cover your health, good for you, but mine comes outta my pocket, and any small business owners.. you can kiss a whole lot more $ goodbye for your healthe insurance. thats not worth cruising down gratiot and woodward once a year w/ out a helmet. Most everyone said their not dumb enough to ride down I 94 w/ out a helmet on a regular basis... is paying that much more in insurance really worth a few rides w/ out a helmet?

THANK YOU!!!! ha i'm not alone... but i do see your guys point about the freedom of choice... i definitely believe that the government is going WAY overboard with the regulations and laws.. and looking for ways to make money off it... but in this issue, i'm looking at it not as a rider, but hard-working american thats going to have to pay for the jack azzes that kill themselves or suffer severe brain damage because they didn't think they would be safer wearing a helmet.

Re: No Helmet Law

newbie girls on supersport 600s that believe the helmet is somekind of forcefield are more likely to crash than a seasoned cruiser... in fact, i think its you newbies on 600ss and literbikes that have done more to inflate insurance premium of hardworking americans.

plus, unless you are 21 and have 2years experience, which i doubt you have either being the 'local cheergirl', you dont have a choice but to where a helmet.

WHOA! ok MRWONDERFUL.... YOU CROSSED THE WRONG BIATCH!
Actually i've been riding 3 years.. will be four this summer, and started off on a 250... took my safety classes and got my license.... I"ve been down once... but did all the repairs myself.... and fyi... my driving record is probably better than anyone elses on this forum.. its actually perfect... i've been driving for 6 years.. and riding for 3... NO CLAIMS!... or Tickets for that matter....so before you get on me about raising any "hardworking american's" insurance rates.. u better check your own driving record and see who has more claims

and yes, i am 21... i do have a choice... and look at the statistics genius... a helmet is not a "forcefield" as you so elequently put it... but your about 5x more likely to die if you DON'T have one on.... thats not my OPINION its fact

My hardworking american *** doesn't need to pay for azzholes like u that choose not to wear a helmet and get your brains splattered all over the road

Re: No Helmet Law

First, it will take a few years before any possible rate change would be seen... the insurance companies are not allowed to jack up rates on pure speculation. if you could back up any of your cheer girl claims/statistic with any facts, like a citation that 5x more people died in Ohio the year after helmets were not required, or how much of a rate increase(if any) Florida had in the years after helmets were not allowed.

but lets boil this argument it down to credibility... you are a 21 year old chic, and like every other 21 year old chic, you talk and think with your ***.... when you ripened to 25, and started to think out what you are going to say, I might debate.
