It's cool man glad to hear your wheeelie switch still werkin:YEAH I actually put some miles on today,sc. to flint ,to corunna back thru durand, gaines, lennon -some good twisties,I like my new suspension settings but the bike sits a little lower now (10mm up front 16mm in rear) and doesnt wheelie as easy in 3rd,I actually have to bounce it pretty good now .or maybe I just have to get more used to it

You changed the spring pre load settings? So was the spring pre load was wrong for your weight before? Spring sag is usually close to 10mm from rider to no rider height.

I basicly screwed around w/ everything until I was happy, seems like when ya do sumthin wrong you can feel it big time but when you making improvents it's alot more subtle. got 12mm fork tube showing above the tree,18mm of thread showing on rear shock then adj. comp.&rebound damping. I know what your sayin, I cant acurately get sag mesurement by myself though feels & handles much better where I got it though:YEAH the front reminds me of my R1 now-words-ummm nimble,flickable..hard to describe but you know what I mean the R1 had that narrow arrow like feelin in the front,I cant describe it well....

The numbers don't mean that is the actual movement atleast in the rear. The reason it feels more nimble is because you increased the amount of weight on the front tire. This helps the bikes turn in speed and can also make the bike feel more stable at higher speeds. Negative effects I can't remember then off the top of my head but I think braking is one of them. I was only lowering my bike for the dragstrip 20mm by sliding the fork tube up the triple tree.

The thing that I do first is set my front and rear ride height/sag correctly to specs and then use the compression and rebound on the shock and forks to get the bike to act how I want it to. I have lowered my fork tubes in the triple tree in order to help with high speed stablity but only about 5mm.

yep, sounds like you know what your doin, I dont have a way to get sag mesurements, maybe I,ll have someone mess around w/ it w/ me over the summer.but for now it feels pretty good I'm 5'8 and 180 lbs. maybe I can poke around the net and see what other guys my size have done to theirs....

Re: ride today?

I did get out for a ride on Tuesday damn didn't realize how much I missed riding over the winter. I was going to do some work on my bike before really riding it this year but after that ride F it. Now if this weather just would make its mind up so we can all ride together.
