I would get one Ebay. They usually go for around 7K with less than 1K miles and with some mods.........much cheaper than buying new.

But I'll probably just talk about it for another year and do nothing.

Honestly, I havent read or heard anything about them that impressed me, n i wouldnt expect that 100k belt to last,or to be rated for 100k of our type of riding, thats my uncles biggest complaint on his ultra glide,3 belts in 3 years-yes he rides the shiat out of it,but he`s not doin wheelies on an ultraglide either. besides-we both might be suprized how much american sweat goes into an R1.I used to help build kawasaki-suzuki robotics...in MICH.

The only American sweat put into my R1 is my own and the captian of the boat that brought it here from Japan..........That much I know fo sho. When you buy a Buell, your looking for more HP......it obviously doesn't match up to the Jap's. It's if you want something a little different I think.

I don't think you will even require a chain with the kevlar belt. You will come to greatly appreciate its silence, as well. Buy a NOS one, though. Higher coolness factor. With the money you will save, you can buy the Richmond 6-speed for it with the lower 1st and OD.

Then we can be Buell buddies and ride around together making lots of noise.

Maybe if you are on the XB platform it is... The X1's have a broader aftermarket with their Harley compatibility. Different rear sprockets are available on top of the factory export sprockets and the lower 1st gear of the Richmond 6-speed.

I'm not a heavy stunter by any means, but do you really need to re-gear if you have almost 100 ft/lbs off idle?
