Would have sold it for 6K, but with the specialized sticker scheme I'm thinking 9K.
NO..........I'm keeping it until at least next year, don't feel like the hassel of changing bikes with all the other crap I've got right now. :YEAH
Re: I need everyones honest opinion.................
Dan, you've seen my Lightning. I don't take it out much because its not a good "passenger bike" and its pretty much going to be turning into more of a "show" item for me that I will cruise around on. Yes, all the factory chrome, braided lines, and polished rims are pimp. Yes, there is also a TON of polishable aluminum on the bikes just waiting for the sander and wheel. Yes, it has more torque at idle than most Metrics do at their peak. Yes, they sound more badass than anything when opened up with a low-restriction exhaust (like my empty race can). You won't break the freaking belt. If you do, you damaged your pulleys somehow and got them out of alignment. X1's are also somewhat "invincible", where they are hard to damage. I've wrecked mine twice at speed and had it fall over a few times as well. Minimal cosmetic damage. Last time I even replaced body panels with factory painted units and spent less than $500 overall. I've never had to use my insurance for anything. Need a part? Surf to eBay, ATC, SACBorg, or Bad Weather and get it for dirt.
Contrary to the other opinions of the XB's, I would not go with one yet. I would go to a dealer and find a brand new X1 that is still sitting on the floor and perform all the recommended mods to it. You will literally spend thousands less and still have up to a 5-year full warranty, because all the mods I am talking about are Dealer-approved. The aftermarket for the Evo platform is endless and the X1 powerpant is the same displacement with the same power and torque and the same weight (with the factory race kit like mine) as the XB. The X1 is completely universal. You can bolt on whatever bars you want (or clip-ons), take the motor up to whatever cc's you want (1500?), swap out the tranny for a 6-speed, change the sprockets (large aftermarket), and basically make the bike whatever you want it to be. You can even lose the cyclops headlight and put a couple PIAA's in there if you want. Want a trick swingarm? Single-sided units are available. Aftermarket OBD software will allow you to plug in to the bike and do whatever you need to. Get a Race Module with the 7000 rpm limit removed. Add a Power Commander and a full-range O2 sensor. The knowledge base for the X1 is only surpassed by the S1. Go with an S1 or M2 if you don't want to bother with the FI system or would prefer to go with a turbo - its easier. The S1 and X1's are killers in the corners like the XB's because they never changed the wheelbase all that much either. The 6-piston caliper on my front rotor will send you over the bars just as good as the ZTL will. XB color schemes suck, too.
To be honest, with all the "innovations" they made to the XB over the X1, I would have thought there would have been a much larger weight reduction. That tells me that if you made the XB equal to the X1 and gave it a fuel tank and oil tank with a solid swingarm, it would be a fat pig. I'd actually bet that I could outrun an XB in a drag to max speed.
If you have specific questions about Buells, ask me. I wish you would have said something while I was still home. PM me and I'll give you my email and IM's, but you can probably get it all right from Stuntlife. I will tell you about every problem I have had, and I have run into all the usual ones - haven't paid for any of them and I only had a 1-year warranty. The Dealer you WANT to deal with is Port Huron. Ask for Jim (Jim Sr. is the owner, you want his son).

I was thinking about a buell just because it's different,ya know. I love the XB's though, I've been reading on them for the last few years. Warranty is good and most people like them I've talked to. The X1's were cool too with some mods. I'm going to wait till next year before I decide upon any changes I think. Re: I need everyones honest opinion.................
I got back to Post on the 9th. Weather got better. Still peaking at about 110, but the hot portion of the day has gotten a lot shorter on both ends. Right now it looks like we're within our 90-day window and should be out of country in early December. Still have to do some time in Kuwait and a few days at Ft. Dix in NJ after that
, but everyone is expecting to be home for Xmas.
Even if you hold off until next year, you'll still be able to find new X1's. Better still, buy a used one in a color you like (with PM wheels) for dirt and build the motor with the money you saved. Its very possible for you to pick up an X1 on a budget and still keep your other bike.

I am sponsored bu buell up here in Alaska and everyone on our team is switching from jap bikes to buells, in my opinion they are the best stunt bike, I stunted my 03 954 for 3 years and i bought a buel, 1 day i was doing 3x as many tricks as on the honda, way easier to wheelie, stoppies are better, they hold up to crashes great and parts to fix them are CHEAP! GET ONE!
