when u shake a can of coke the pressure remains the same. it's the gasses inside the can that expand quickly when u open the container. shakin the can causes the gasses to stick to the walls of the container. when u open the can, the gasses expand and push the coke out. this was actually a topic in a physics class i took.

pressure only builds up with temperature, volume, or changes in mass (material inside the container). the proportions formula is P=mT/V, so more mass, m, (liquid in the container) or temp, T, cause greater pressure, where as V, volume of the container, is inversely proportional (make the container smaller, pressure builds up.)
