I know gasoline is very sensitive to heat as far as expansion. Like even if its temp only goes up 1 degree, you will hear the hiss.

 

Man plasma cutters are frickin expensive. I wont buy a chinese one so dont even mention it Chito.

yep youre right , i shook it and it didn't do **** but i set it out in the sun while i smoked my cigarette and it built up pressure in just that short amount of time

 

umm do i want to ask what gas cap sparked this entire conversation ?

It's the air building the pressure, not the gas. Gas doesn't expand that much when heated.

 

actually now that i think about it .... its still on my bike lol had to do some mods to make it usable .... and its still crap lol

 

usable, as in stop the leaking?

 

2 big issues i had were the o ring that comes with it was crap and expanded alot .... then ripped .

other issue was there vent design is bad . the gas comes up , goes through the vent hole . when your in a wheelie , it doesnt make it to the vent tube and out the bottom of the bike . instead it goes around the base and on to the top of the tank where you will be / are sitting .... again crap !

 

yea drilled the vent hole , and tapped it . screwed in a pipe plug . and got a crap load of spare o rings from a hardware store . keep em on the little helmet hooks under the rear seat . if they expand too much , toss it and onn to the next lol

 

all caps will leak like that if the base isn't sealed , you have to seal the base to the tank and as long as the vent works it will just leak out the vent tube like it's supposed to

you capped off the vent in the base ? thats exactly what you don't want to do
