Re: OMR SUBCAGE [subframe cage]

ok i know this is gonna sound like a biker boy post but it has been on my mind so im gonna see what you guys think ...i wish niner and three cheetos were here[engineers] ....

every one makes a big deal out of hybrids [cars the run both gas engines and electric motors] why don't they just make cars with a real small light gas or deisel engine that powers electric motors via inverters ???

because americans are addicted to horse power. You wouldn't please the american people, produce competitive hp #'s & stay cost efficient at the same time using light gas/diesel engines. Im sure in japan there doing it.

with a light enough engine and not having to carry a bunch of battery's i think it would be as fast as most 4 cylinder cars ..

electric motors can make gobs of torque , most frieght trains run on electric motors powered by a diesel engine ..i think

Re: OMR SUBCAGE [subframe cage]

Frieght train efficiency

If you take the entire loaded weight of a typical freight train and divide it over the amount of diesel fuel it uses…
Freight trains, on average, move one ton of material 423 miles on one gallon of diesel fuel.

I ran across this tidbit, i thought some people here would appreciate it!

i guess my point was they make bigger deal about half gas half electric cars vs. almost all electric cars because the average billy bob american might get convinced into a hybrid or flexfuel but never an electric car...

just my thought though, could be wrong
