If you are going to "chip" it, I would highly suggest getting the Flashpaq from SuperChips. Best programmer out there, that will increase the "EFFICIENCY" of your motor thus giving you more torque and horsepower. The ONLY reason why you will increase your MPG consumption is b/c you will be making more power which require you using less pedal to get the truck going the same speed. In effect, YOU are increasing the MPG b/c now you are working your truck less to get the same amount of get up and go from when it was stock.
Finally someone who knows enough about gas engines to under stand the term Stoichiometric Combustion. Diesels run on detonation so you can run whatever air/ fuel mixture you want. Gas engines you have to stay at a set ratio.

Please dont get the idea that i dont know anything about engines, I have been through this arguement before and have tested it myself before and after with my last trans am. With stock air box i got average of 16.92-17.05 in city NO HIGHWAY after SLP airbox i got 18-19.27 (or .17 i dont remember). after i put on headers and exhaust I consistantly got around 20mpg in city. With a best ever of 31mpg on a highway road trip.

I konw its only a couple mpg but the fact remains that it DOES improve your mpg slightly and thats all i care about.

Furthermore, I'm not gonna go out and spend 500 on a programmer I'll wait til i find someone selling it cheep online and loow ball them

Be careful buying used programmers, b/c once they've been used on 1 vehicle, they CANNOT be used on another. You have to send them back to the factory and have the VIN # deleted and the original settings re-installed before you can use the programmer.

all you have to do is make sure the programmer set the car back to stock, and that the vin is UNLOCKED and it should be fine.

but thanks for the heads up

already did that, and when these tires give out, im going back to fully street tires, the ones on here currently are like not crazy but they are offroading tires which I have no use for. So with the over inflating and and diff tires i'll prolly pick up a lil bit to!!!

That's the only tried and true method. That and keeping your car tuned up.

That's what I'm saying, people selling used programmers online SAY they did that, but they really didn't and the VIN # is still in the programmer. A couple guys I know did that, and they were out like $250.

Or do what I did... buy a truck, and buy a little Honda Accord. I drive my Accord everyday to and from work, and then whenever I need to load up my bike I throw it in the truck.

36psi on the Honda and 45psi on the truck. For every 10 degree fluctuation a tire can loose 1psi, and around here in CO the weather changes like that ****** CONSTANTLY!!!

I was just gonna say that. When I had my truck, I drove a POS lumina everywhere. I got tired of driving a POS around though.

My Accord isn't a POS though, it's a nice little clean unit. Even though, once I get promoted I'm going to sell the Accord and upgrade to a Lexus IS300 as my daily commuter.

Exactly, I was always debating that as well. Then everytime you switch cars, one of them is on empty. It never fails.
