why so many WEAK stunnas???
Re: why so many WEAK stunnas???
well i just spent my time reading some good points and bad points, and im not going to voice my opinion because everyones opinion is diffrent but i will say this, i am a pretty new rider been trying to learn for a couple months now working on slow 12's right now and just recently got a few friends together and we dont promote ourselves out to everyone as a stunt team but we do have a name and a website, mainly for a forum to discuss things and have fun. we organize spots for people to stunt and i consider myself no where near good but i was invited to enter a stunt show recently as i have never even been to one, but i still wouldnt enter because i feel like i dont have enough tricks up my sleve to pull it off, then at the same time i feel like i had missed out on an oppurtunity to better myself and to see what everyone is doing and if i was the worst one out there atleast i would have gotten the experiance of PUTTING on a show because i dont have goals to be a pro stunter but i do wanna get good and maybe someday i will do a show or a competition. one last thing, no one made you go to the stunt show, if you were unhappy with it you should have asked for your money back instead of bitching about it on stuntlife
Re: why so many WEAK stunnas???
everyone has a different opinion as we've all seen here. I think Brian from C6 and Jay ( Vertical Outlaws ) brought up some good points as well as some other people. A lot of people that have been to our shows have never even seen anything like this before. At our local speedway where we do a lot of shows, the crowd likes it so much the track manager is having us host a competition this fall to help further along the sport. It's funny but the crowd always seems to like the tricks that most stunters don't consider that hard. I can't tell you how many times I've heard the crowd get pumped up over a christ instead of a no throttle hand wheelie. You have to sometimes look at it from a spectator's standpoint as opposed to a riders standpoint. While we as stunters may look at someone and think they could have done better, a person in the crowd who's never seen that before probably thinks it's the best thing. The guys on our team ride at a show a lot different than they normally do when out at the spot practicing. It seems to work pretty good. At least it's getting the idea out there...if no one was out doing shows, no one would know about the sport.
Re: why so many WEAK stunnas???
ive noticed that....roll a wheelie at 12 for an 1/8 th mile or tap the bar and slide on it ya get a couple oo's and ahhhh's but blow a tire off or crash a 12 they go nuts, let me ask you all a question, why do most people who like nascar but are not finatics watch a race....
answer: the crashes, people dont know a whole hell of alot about our sport yet, it helps if you have a good announcer during the show, but right now they want to see annialation...destruction, and rubber flying out of a cloud of smoke followed by a load bang when the tire blows. im not saying go out and only do the easy ****, but go out and do a mix of technical and easy, destructive ****, right now we have to just give them what they want mixed with a little of what we like to do. let the game get a little further down the road, when people understand it, the majority will then want to see how good you really are. right now chances are jon q public doesnt have a clue and wants to see high speed and destructive stunts...

look at freestyle motorcross for example, now that more people have an understanding of the sport they can appreciate the harder tricks more.
Re: why so many WEAK stunnas???
its almost like pro wreastling, real is hard and boring, the fake **** is just a show and nothing else but people eat it up like candy, the more you please the crowd the bigger stunt riding will become once it gets big people will know and learn more about it and realize what tricks are hard and what tricks arent then those who suck and shouldnt be putting on shows wont be
Re: why so many WEAK stunnas???
the wrecks are a part of the wondefull morbid facinations we americans have. thats why people slow down to stare at car accidents.
as for the amature stunting and doing it on old bikes. i think it's good that they're making an attempt. we all strted out at the bottom and worked our way up. i dont care how good you are or what you ride as long as you dont give us a bad name. it's all out of fun and excitement.
