I just need to get this off my chest.
First of all, I don't compete. I don't "perform". I don't make videos. I don't even have a cool name like "RECKLESS VERTICAL EXTREME MANIACS"
I just pretty much ride cuz it's what I love to do. But several weeks ago I had the misfortune of witnessing two "stunt shows" locally, here in Wisconsin. Two seperate "stunt teams" showed up to do their thing and frankly made complete asses of themselves. Their names will remain anonymous. (but you know who you are)
The main reason I have a problem with it is; Everyone here wants to see stunt riding blow up. And it is getting there, but as long as you knuckleheads keep parading your weak *** wheelies at motorsports events and masquerading as "stunt riders" it's never gonna happen.
How in the hell are the top level riders supposed to get their foot in the door?
I can see promoters being turned off when their only exposure to the sport was a miserable performance by the XYZ stuntriders......
They will look the other way because they'll say,
"nope we've seen "street extreme" we tried it and it sucks, now go away."
I can't stand watching a bunch of clowns who couldn't hold my jock claim to be professionals! I wouldn't dream of promoting myself in a stunt show for a 9 year-olds birthday party, let alone a major event!
So I'm begging everyone to take a good look in the mirror and decide what you are and what you're not. And make peace with it.
It's time to let those who can take stunting to the next level carry the torch.... -peace

i hear what your sayin, theres a group in my town they have the oldest fzr's and vfr's and they pull 3 or 4 second wheelies. this is no lie. they have a group name which i will also not expose, and claim they stunt and want to compete at the next show at the dragway. they will show up and attempt to do their thing.

just cause your girlfriend gets scared when you stand on the pegs and let go of the handle bars, or when you do a brake stand,doesn't mean everyone is gonna think your "wicked good"

 

Very good point, alot of those out here too. Im not the best nor do I think Im the best. When I was just startin out the guys I used to ride with always had shows, and they always wanted me to ride them. I KNEW I was not show material and didnt want to embarass my self or the guys I used to ride with so I would sit my *** on the sidelines and video tape. So if you suck *** chill out with tryin to do shows and embarassing yourselfs and all of us real stunters. Peace out

 

PPPPssshhhhh, man im sorry but ur full of ****. Just because a bike isnt '00 or newer doesn't mean it can't be stunted. ****...look at my avator, u see that?? thats a 31 year old bike and i bet i can hold my own with most of u. A good stunter can stunt anything(well, within reason) and still make it look effortless. Just my thoughts.....

I aint gonna flame no one...I understand your concerns and complaints but you have to understand this is a free world, brotha...democracy, free trade, blah blah blah...why did the PC get so big so fast while the Mac struggled for a few years? Why did America win the cold war while the USSR fell? You see competition BREEDS supiriority...thinning of the herd and all...and while you might go to a stunt show by one of these smaller groups who might not have all they're ducks in a row and think to yourself "these cats are a joke" they are still breeding the sport and inevitably they are bettering the sport...in actuality, if you all wanna see money, then you all better start promoting the sport to EVERY tom, dick and harry...you better love those sally's cause they are opening doors whether you see them or not...I know it's a pain in the butt when you see someone performing and you know there is some cooler shyt around the way, but at what point do you judge someone who is LEARNING but lacks the experience versus someone who is untalented and should be dragged off the pavement with a giant hook and ushered behind the curtains? Hell, I know it's a biatch, but everyone I know thinks they shyat they were doing last WEEK was whack...lol...so I say keep on keepin on, lame stunnas...YOU MAKE THE TOP LEVEL STUNNAS LOOK THAT MUCH BETTER!! Stunting aint about being elite...it's about motha phukkas jumpin on a wreck and doing what everyone else tells them NOT to do...you know?? ANYONE and EVERYONE on here was bustin whack azz wheeliez at one point or another...you either got good, got old or got smoked...period

 

no your right i wasn't really focused on the bike i shuldn't have included that i was just agreein' with the kid. my point was that just cause you can make the front wheel on your bike come up for a few seconds doesn't mean your ready for shows and comps. sorry about the misunderstanding my fault

i have to go with you on that everyone starts some where and most people know if there show stopers or not ,but u cant kick anyone for trying, any why when it comes to shows i see guys do no hander ,one hander 12 ;s or what ever the **** and the people loking the other way and then i see a guy stand there and blow his tire off and the people go nuts just stuff that i have notice at shows ...

 

not everyone can just go out and do this on the first day out, for some of us its takes practice, and how long you figure the pro's are gonna be stunting b4 they have to pass the torch?? its a long hard road to the top, especially for those of us with 80 hour a week jobs and kids. some of us dont aspire to go pro, hell, i dont have the time, and my daughter needs to go to college. last i checked this **** aint paying my bills yet. let alone making enough to support a family. health insurance, if you have kids, you need it. last time i looked stunting doesnt provide that. and how much are the few that have made it making? 30stacks, 40 stacks??? ****, some of us just do it cause we like it. our groups are guys we grew up with, brothers that would take a bullet for us, drop what they are doing to have our backs, keep there mouths shut and go to jail to save one another. having a group doesnt always mean your trying to hit the big time, its just a group of guys and girls that enjoy destroying there bikes together.... i would love to go pro, but the harsh reality is pro stunting can not afford my life style, house, kids, and the bills that go along with that responsibility not to mention the almost 3 g's in parts ive replaced already this year. b4 you say glamma stunna quit replacing plastic then here is my peice of ****, mechanicly sound, cosmeticly

I see what you guys are saying but let me just say this... I'm no where near the tightest cat on one wheel... YET! I am workin on my **** every day (when me or my bike ain't broken) and I still consider myself a stunt rider. Or at least one in training. This is something I love to do. I don't even plan on competing or making any videos. Props to those who do, but I'm just doing it for the love of the game. Corny as it may sound. Its true.
