standing with -2 gearing at first.
i went and hit the 12 bar the first time out within 2 hours.
but i had practiced a little slow **** before using the rear brake when my bike was still stock.

id have to say standing is the way to learn.

Re: how did you learn slow 12s

my homie brian just learned 12s tonight, standups, no bar, stock geared gsxr 600. First time ever. After 2 hours he was rockin slow rolls and NTHs. I am still speechless.. He's a roadracer in the top 5 of the expert class.. Those fools have more skill than some of you think.

Re: how did you learn slow 12s

i started learning on stock sprockets, but it's a little hard getting it up from a dead stop, and having to bring it past the balance point on so much rpm plus clutch. standing was easier for me but some of my buddies found it easier to sit. i've got a plus 19 rear coming in soon, so i'll holla back and let ya know if it works better....

Yup... that's my problem. Getting it up and controling it from a stop without aceclerating to 40MPH is my problem... Plus I don't think my back brake is biting like it should. Doesn't seem to want to slow me down.

i've got to the point where i clutch up, just shy of the balance point, and tap the rear brake alittle just to get control. then i start rolling the gas to put me further back. i don't know if that helps ya, but that's how i got comfortable.
