Yes, especially when learing cause you are wobbly and for circles, and bikes that suddenly shutoff in wheelies hurt!

A note on the silicone... Leave the cover off while it dries! I did mine 6 mths ago and never had a problem. Then last week at Lakeland Merk was doing some slow spreaders on my bike and it just died on him and moustrapped! Knocked all the wind out of him, and he was dazed for a minute. Well my tipover switch was just hangin instead of being where it was supposed to be. I pulled the cover off because it wouldn't start and I knew it had to be that. When I opened it up the ring had slid over and shut the bike off!

Moral of the story; silicone doesn't dry when it's sealed up! Let it dry with the cover off!

Thanks guys.

I haven't ever looked for it either....(this is pretty sad because I am a mechanic anyways) where's it at? so I don't go looking in the wrong places.

Dumb question - does the 02' GSXR 1k have said sensor?

If so... where is it located?

Thx!

mine has been fine for a long time. I guess they wear out and get looser or something cause I'll just be idleing along at balance...not wobbly or anything and the f-cker just shuts off and takes my *** out. never used to do that. hell it only seems to do it w/ my foot is in the bar....which doesn't make any sense!

sensor is located under the tank mounted to the plastic in front of the battery, it will be a little box being held on by a rubber strap

ALL the FI gixxers have one, they are all located under the seat

It's a square box about a inch and a half across that is held in place by a black rubber holder. it hads a plug that connects to it. Once you have it off you can be sure that it is it before you open it by shaking it. It is the one that sounds like there is something inside it rattling around

AND JAY, LMAO, you know how we do, if you can't Duct it, FU(K
it!

Wait til you see my bike this year

I used a paper towel on mine, just incase I ever wanted it to work again. I just stuffed that mess in there and haven't had any problems since.
