clutch on gsxr1k is hard to pull in

i dont know if its like this on all 2002 gsxr 1000's , but my clutch lever is hard to pull in. is there anyway to make it easier. it takes all my fingers to engage it. ive been wroking out my fingers (with help from my girlfriend) and i tried wd-40. just wondering if there are any tricks to making it easier like a softer spring or something.
oh yeah , i already replaced my clutch cable at 9,000 miles cuz it snapped where it connects to the lever. i checked and its not rubbing there.

Yeah, sounds like something might be wrong. Especially if it snapped already. Get that **** checked out if you're not comfortable tearing through everything.

all gixxers from what I can tell. I ordered up a new cable to see if that was it. it was $16 so it's worth a shot.

Hell I couldn't use it well w/ 1 finger....now I got 2 fingers on the ****er and I can use it great in a wheelie now.

I just use 1 finger on mine unless I'm holding it for very long. My cable has never been lubed and my clutch is original. Got over 10,000 miles of abuse since day one and no problems. Seems like once your clutch plates start getting worn it gets stiffer though.

Go to your dealer and order a MSR (SHORTY) Dirt Bike clutch lever. This lever has 3 adjustable points of where the clutch can be set. My clutch lever was like a rock until Digity (PBR) showed me this. Now my Clutch is like butter i can pull it in with one finger with no pressure at all...

My cable used to be real stiff like that. Take the whole clutch cable off and use a half a can of cable lube on it and it will be straight. It worked for me. Maybe you have somthin else goin on though since you are breakin cables. Cable lube makes a difference.

i did the same thing, except mine was called a "raptor" lever. three adjustable points. in the description it said that the easiest one was 300% !!! easier pull. haven't put it on yet. i'm pretty sure you have to eliminate or move your signal/high switches.

gixxers have 3 adjustment points, if the ball and ramp are not set correctly, your clutch will stiffen quickly, and will also burn your clutch, is there enough free play in the lever??, I have worked on many gsxr1000's about 3-4 clutches a week, and all the stock levers were butter when they left the shop, maybe lube the cable and double check the adjustments, if that doesnt work or you just want a new toy check out the dirt bike lever,..

since it was already replaced, check the routing. If it zigged when it should have zagged, it can be binding on the cable and greatly increase pull effort, just a thought

i bought my gsxr w/ a race clutch already installed so that ****er was hard.... but really all i did was work out my pointer finger w/ a strong rubber band simulating the clutch and what i did was pull in w/ 2 fingers and let go the middle finger so i have only 1 finger pulled in on the clutch.....so yeah anyways work out that finger!
