Any "sprocket specialists" out there?

2001/2002 gsxr 750 ...... is -3 +20 gonna be 'in between" where I wanna be? I wanna slow my **** WAY down, but some people are saying that it may be right IN BETWEEN where I wanna be; referring to 1st and 2nd gear ..... and I may need to go higher in the rear ... WTF????

I want to be dead on .... in 1st and 2nd ... rather than IN BETWEEN the gears ... meaning tooo much for 1st and barely not enough for second

I have a GSXR 750.
I don't understand the "in between" question... My personal experience is this: started with -1 +2 a yr ago...went to -1 +4, then soon after to -2 +4. These all worked well for normal wheelies, making it easier with each increase. And was still streetable.

Then I wanted to do 12's and slow wheelies.

I changed to -2 +8 at first and was able to scrape a 12 bar and somewhat slow down. 80mph on the freeway was 8000rpm. At this point it was getting close to not fun to ride anywhere far.

I got real serious about stunting and truck/trailer my bike everywhere now. My current gearing is -2 +20. This works very well for slow stuff, but I would never try to ride anywhere far. Prob. about a 20-30mi max for me with under 10mi preferred.

*** far *** response for gears...if you go from much smaller to much bigger...you will have the same characteristics that you had in a lower gear in a higher gear. (what it did in 2nd before, it will do in 3rd or 4th)

I have to agree with Mike M. in saying that if your goal is not VERY slow 1st gear wheelies and 12's, then don't go past -2 +10 area.

And as far as "twitchy" first gear goes...again you may not be ready for extreme gearing. You should be using the rear brake to control first gear wheeilies.

just my

too much for what though???? I have multiple bikes and this would be STRICTLY 12ing .... very slow stuff, no street riding. What is the advantage (if any) of -2 or -3 and like +20 or +25 AS OPPOSED TO say -1 +6 or so??? Motopsykoz got like +26 on gsxr1000 ..... they are the **** .... so why is everyone saying "that's too much" when all the REAL PROS got HUGE ****???

Only reason pros have huge **** is cause they are doin some really sick **** and its less wear on the bike . most can do most anythin with normal gears

I have -3 + 5 and its pretty nice

MPZ got that **** cause they are doin like 30 circles n dont wanna burn through the clutch

IF your doin just 12s you dont need that, kyle was doin like 2 mph on one wheel with somethin really close to stock gearing
