Choke/Fast idle question

12ing on the gixxer 750 stock and obviously need different gearing. I am using an 01 gsxr 750 motor right now which has the fast idle on it. I am looking to buy another motor for my blown up 750 (also an 01) ... I found a 2002 for a good price, but those didnt come with the choke cable thing .... can you put one on it??? or how does that **** work??

get an idle cable from a srad, they mount right into the 02 throttle bodies. then run it out by your resevoir

Yo MEacham...get a cable from ronayers.com off of a SRAD...It bolts right up...I have mine running under the left side of my tank between the frame and tank, under my left lower. Its easy to reach, easy to adjust, and like 30 bux.

fast idle is like a choke on the carb right?

No this is an idle cable that actually adjusts your idle from a **** adjustment

Ok here it goes

Srad's had an idle adjuster (not fast idle) cable that always ran out by the coolant resevoir (did not mount on handle bars). Your idle adjustment screw in the 00 and better is just a screw not a cable.

you can get the srad cable then screw it in where the idle screw goes (on throttle body) and run it out by your resevoir.

enough detail or do I have to write a book

thats cool ..... my only question now, is: IS it worth doing this on a 2002 750 motor, or just getting the 01 and it's already there??????

I think thats all going to have to be decided by you bro. Which one has less miles and all that blah blah. Its only a freaking cable and ****. It shouldnt be to hard to mount on a 02. And whats the price of each motor.

go with either

if youre just swapping out the motor your fine, if you swap out motor and throttle bodies then you might run into problems with the secodary throttle valve thingy (on right side of throttle bodies when your sittin on the bike).

I put an 01 motor in my 02 bike and just used the same throttle bodies that the bike came with
