How to Wheelie?
How to Wheelie?
Hey guys, I've got an '03 600RR, all stock. How do I wheelie?? Lol
I know I should burp the clutch, but in what gear? What RPM should I be looking to hit? And how do I prevent Jack-knifing (that's my main worry).

Go to you tube and look up how to wheelie 600's. 1st gear for idle wheelies and second gear for speed wheelies... be safe and try to find a place to practice thats not just on the streets.. wear your gear and clutch it up.
P.S. You can start with some power wheelies in first gear by going about ten miles an hour letting the throttle go and then cracking it back .. just a suggestion. Im a nub myself these are just some tips that got my front wheel up pretty good !!

Clutch it, I can only imagine a clutch up on a 600 to be very easy since I can clutch my 250 up without problem...
Best advice I was given was to get the bike rolling slowly, pull clutch and bring RPMs up to 3K and drop clutch to pop it up. Then move to 4K, 5K, 6K with each one and eventually you'll find the sweet spot. Just don't start high or you could loop the bike.

Re: How to Wheelie?
Hey I know its not the Ideal bike to be doing this, but I've been trying to wheelie my VF1100 Sabre (will most likely sell and buy a 636), Its pretty heavy like 620lbs wet, but It make good power like 120 hp from pretty low rpms. So I was trying a power wheelie and I was getting it, the front tire was getting light, but whenever I tryed to slip the clutch at revs it just shot off like a rocket. IDK what I'm doing wrong. Do I rev and dump or feather the clutch as I rev or what? I don't really get it because as you let out the clutch the revs drop because the motor meets the opostion of the drivetrain through the flywheel. So how can you burp the throttel and slip the clutch simultaneously. Also I have a driveshaft, which I think makes it allot harder.
Re: How to Wheelie?
best gear to learn in is 2nd. 1st is too tourqueyy. gett rolling and when you feel the "power band" start to hit thats the rpms you want to be at. dont look at you tack just know when. looking down at your rpms will only mes you up. right as your bike hits power band or right before push down on your bars, pull the clutch in just for a second and as you forks rebound and the power band hit pop the clutch and pull up. it takes time learning this so dont go rushing it
Re: How to Wheelie?
I started learning wheelies on my gsxr600 in first gear get up to about 25-30mph and pop that **** (start at lower rpms so you get use to how much it takes to pick the front end up) then just keep at it til you get it down then start tryin to pull up in 2nd gear the same way just a little faster. Good luck bro
