Streetfighter with Instrument panel?

So I haven't gotten my bike yet (hopefully in the next week or so). Anyway, I'm looking at an '01 F4i and it needs some work. Nothing major, just new front signals, mirrors, and the bracket that holds the exhaust to the tail. The side fairings are mangled, which doesn't bother me, I've always liked streetfighters and wanted to make whatever I get into a streetfighter/stuntbike. But it still needs to be street legal. All of the streetfighter conversions I've seen involve removing the instrument cluster and replacing it with a smaller headlight/upper fairing. Since it still needs to pass inspection, does anybody know if you can mount these over top of your instruments or do they only fit if your gauges are removed? I've attached a picture of the ones I was looking at. I was also just going to use this as my turn signals, if anybody know if that will pass inspection would be helpful as well. Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up! Did you still have your gauges when you used it, or did you remove the gauges?

1. Yes you will have to remove your Gauges with that set up
2. Make sure you get a Acerbris Brand Light (Not that Ebay Knock off crap)
(Also upgrade the Bulb with a 55w from Walmart )
3.Here In MN you don't need turn signals so I don't have them.
4. Put a mirror at the end of your bar for your Inspection (MN only
Requires 1 mirror)

I wish MD was that easy on inspection. I guess I'll just have to wait till it passes inspection to modify it.

Re: Streetfighter with Instrument panel?

On my F4i I bought some L brackets and pipe clamps from lowes and made my own bracket. I mounted them off the extra pipe from my clip ons. Its not the best set up and it got destroyed when I crashed. But it looks good enough to pass inspection.
