Streetfighters Magazine recently held a day at the historic Ace Cafe, home of the original Ton-Up Boys of London

As with everything Streetfighters are involved with, the organisation was zero and mayem ensued...

And if you think this video diary's insane, you wanna see the other two hours of edited stuff we got...

Still remember the first issus I bought about five years ago, introduced me to sick bikes and stunts, changed my life. Bit like a bible on nitrous!!! Good ****.

Sorry guys but I gotta say that so far these videoz I have downloaded from "Europe" have to be some of the worst I have seen for not giving a ***** !! Some people say we have a alot to learn from the europeans. Well I gotta say they need to learn to take this stuff to a safer place.....I mean a stunt show in traffic where there is barely enuff road to do anything, surrounded by tons of people !! WTF !!
Its shiat like this that gives the whole stunt scene a bad image !!
They cant rent a track somewhere ??? Give me a break.
The government wont let it ??? You mean to tell me they would prefer to have this shiat in the streets ?? Sorry but I aint buying it.
Back in the day before we knew any better watching the StarBoyz cruise on down the highway was cool but it has evolved..
Why havent they ???
Sorry for the vent, but I really find that last clip a bit ridiculous.....
Cheers

It's unfortunatley really hard to find 'legal' places to stunt in the UK. Thanks to really high polulation density, especially around London anything like old air fields etc have been sold off for industrial estates or housing devopments.

I was there and mostly it was pretty safe, with most of the people knowing what they were doing.

(and if anyone in the UK /does/ know about any appropriate places down south, please tell me )

Nope - not a chance in hell

Absolutely no where barring one airfield around 250 miles away is prepared to let any one ride on their tarmac [1] - assuming you can find anywhere to even ask as pretty much everything's been ripped up to build new houses on

There are only two proper drag strips in the UK, neither of which will allow stunting on the strips - including the pros they employ for race days, who have to use the access/safety roads for their show. At both strips, these little bits of flat concrete are just as, if not more, dangerous than a public road. No one's going to pay to use 'em even if the strip owners let us, which they won't

The Ace Cafe's pretty unique when it comes to stunting on the road, and is definitely not the norm in the UK

The main problem with it are one or two riders who may have talent but never look at what's going on around them. Personally, when they go out I put the bike away 'cos they're a danger to the riders around them

The other problem is that the people watching crowd into the road. If they stayed on the pavement then it wouldn't be that bad

And, quite honestly, the people stunting know the risks and so do the people watching. It's one of the few areas of life left in the UK that hasn't been destroyed by the litigious culture that's spread from the US

We (IQ 18) have spent the past 10 months looking for somewhere to host a stunt show in the southern part of the UK and we've only just found two possible places that may allow us to do it - but only may, and we're talking about a fully professional, fully insured event with full medical cover where the riders are all also fully insured for performing at public stunt events, rather than a couple of mates who just want somewhere quiet to ride

In the UK you either stunt on the road or you buy a CRF, KX or whatever and play in a field somewhere...

[1] The lads I ride with are lucky as we do have occasional access to a runway, but that's only because we've got serving forces personnel in our ranks who can get us on MoD property

The government wont let it ??? You mean to tell me they would prefer to have this shiat in the streets ?? Sorry but I aint buying it.
Hmm, you're rather judgemental for someone who obviously, and understandably, doesn't know the political climate of the UK

The government don't want bikes on the road at all. Stunting, not stunting, it doesn't matter to them - they just want us gone forever. And if a few people have to die for that to become a reality then they don't care.

It's the same for people into modified cars - they want them gone, wiped out, completely destroyed and they'll use any method necessary to acheive that goal

You really are venturing into an area you have absolutely no idea about and an area that any and every right thinking motorist (car driver and biker alike) in this country is absolutely furious about

And if you still don't believe us, then consider this...

Absolutely no one in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland has rights. We're not citizens of the UK, we're subjects. We're subjugates to the monarch. We are given priveleges that can be revoked at any time by the monarch - we have no constitution and, therefore, no rights to a damn thing

The authorities can and do anything they damn well please happy in the knowledge no one can do anything to stop them - especially as your average UK subject is so used to being subjugated that they don't even raise a voice at another so-called 'right' being removed never mind actually protest about it. In fact, thanks to the tabloids over here, the government have managed to persuade people that protesting is wrong!

You really have no idea what it's like in the UK if you're not one of the sheep...

I'm with VeggieDave on this one. People stunting know the risks... people watching know the risks. Or they should.

When people stunt around me, I pay attention, and I make sure my bike is outta harms way. If I get hit, I'm not going to sue anybody....

It's lawyers, and people not willing to accept responsibility for thier own actions that ruin all the good things. Glad to see spots in the UK are still holding on...

Couldn't have said it better.. "personal responsibility".. use your brain, and if you choose not it's your problem.

The vast majority of them seem to be people who've been driving past (there's a dual cariageway 1/8 mile away that runs parallel to the road) who decide they want to see the stunting from a closer point and drive straight into the middle of it

The only traffic that definitely uses the road as a road are the buses, which are used to the mayhem outside the Ace - not that it's always the bikers that cause it. Apparently the custom car nights are just as stupid

At midday the only traffic is people at the show. Once the stunting starts, the cars turn up, and as more cars arrive, they in turn attract even more cars until the riders stop playing, at which point the cars all disappear. So the riders go out again, and the whole process starts again... That's why it looks like rush hour even though it's a Sunday on an industrial estate
