i searched over the site and i coulnt find a relevant topic

my f4i fan fuse always gets blown - i checked the bl/bu wire and it has continuity from end to end - it doesnt seem to be pinched or something

today i put a small wire on the blown fan fuse (20A) to 'bypass' it somehow and then the main fuse got blown (30A)

i dont have an exact pattern for this, though my fan works (was kickin` in at high temps)

any tips what to check?

 

how freely does the fan spin? if its binding you may pop fuses from the drag...

 

the fan's alright .. it spins normal

 

check to see if your fan mounting bolts are loose i had same problem wit my 954 checked all wires top to bottom to finde out the fan was leaning back and hittiing my pipes comeing off the motor and melted and every time it hit when fan was suppose to come on it poped fuse also tryed what u did and blew main fuse to

 

sounds like the hot wire is shorting out on some thing

 

what do you mean by hot wire? the non-ground wire that goes to the fan ?

 

the wire that supplies power to the fan
