wheelie stears me?

the last 2 days i have been getting the balance point everytime and being able to hold it there a little bit. just yesterday out of no where they just stuck and i can hold them almost as long as i want. The problem is after about a 1/4 mile or so the bike is slowly veering off to the right and I have to put it down. I tried steering it like i read by leaning way off to the left but all it does is slow down how fast its going off the side. at first I thought it was the road but I did it on several and they all go right. then i thought it was the way i was lifting it up ( left foot on back peg right foot on brake ) but none of that changed. I can only think that its the bikes, could my back tire be that out of align to sway me over to the side? I just maintained my chain the other night and lined all that stuff back up. Is it possible that after a day of hard clutching it can pull the rear wheel off align a little?

This problem is annoying now that i can finally ride a real stand up

Re: wheelie stears me?

Ill try both of those. Will lower tire pressure make leaning the bike to turn more soft and smooth?

theres 25psi in the rear now and still 36 in the front. does anyone change the front tire psi BTW???

Re: wheelie stears me?

adjust the rear alignment till it goes straight if its going right either tighten the left or loosen the right depending on how tight the chain is.

edit: even if it says its off alignment on the swing arm adjust it till it goes straight but make sure u do it on a nice flat road without wind

Re: wheelie stears me?

I have noticed a similar problem on some of the roads i ride normally. Most of the roads out here are crowned so that water will flow off sides. This tends to pull the bike toward the shoulder for me. But i know for a fact that i have to work more on body control as well.

Re: wheelie stears me?

i had the same problem. My issue was i was drifting and while trying to go straightin out i was letting the front end dip down to much. body position is a must.

Re: wheelie stears me?

I can almost guarantee its body positioning... its more than just shifting ur upper body, u have to actually put the weight on the peg. for example. Say i wanna go left.. as i move my body to the left i also want to step down on the left peg and take the weight off the right. Keep in mind u have to keep the bike at bp or very near it.. hope this helps
