Stupid Spray Paint Question: I want a metallic look

Ok guys, I'm sure this is a stupid question but whatever. Well I'm gonna be painting my plastics and tank for the summer in the next couple weeks and I'm gonna keep it on the cheap side. I am just gonna do it up with spray paint but I really want a nice shiny, almost candy type look.

SO I have been looking around and at first I was gonna go with a Kawi like green (any suggestion on good kawi like green spray paint would be appreciated lol) BUT THEN......i stumbled across Dupli-Color's Red metal cast......I WANT IT. It would be a sick spray paint job but I'm not sure if its gonna work out on plastic fairings so I figured I would throw this out there.

If the dupli-color is a no go does anyone have any suggestions on cool spray paint or any good colors? Again I want to go with something that looks candy like, like hte duplicolor does. I might just go for it. Thanks for any help

Heres some links of hte paint and its pretty much what I'm going for. They sprayed a NERF gun so I don't think fairings would be much different

The issue you'll run into is, the color will loko different on your tank than it will on your plastics.

Just primer it first. I just did mine with High gloss spray paint from Meijer. And use like 3 or 4 coats of clear. Mine looks as good as any shop could do it.

Re: Stupid Spray Paint Question: I want a metallic look

dupli color works good but make sure you clear coat it and that will give you the shine you want. you can use the matalic clear coat they have and it will give a nice flake look to the paint. thats what i did. but make sure the base coat dries real well before you clear it or it will pull the paint off and it will look like ****. when you clear do 3 to 5 light coats i mean real light then let it dry for a bout 3 hours then come back with 2 real wet coats and it will have a bling shine to it

I did mine with a flat black and gloss olive green strip looks great for a spray can. Just do lots of coats..... I never clear coated it and still looks good this year for a spray.

Re: Stupid Spray Paint Question: I want a metallic look

Thanks for the input guys,

and ATOWN, your cages are DOPE. Did the old loop out maneuver, smacked the subframe on a sit down and just watched my bike full out pancake and flip. Picked it up, dusted it off and drove away with a slighty tweaked subframe and clipon (clipon was already a little shaky) all in all my bike was legit, thanks alot man
