Re: about to ride, couple questions

if your gonna gear your bike then why not learn on that gear ? if you learn on stock gear then go to a big gear you will just have to learn all over again

and as far as tire pressure i run 40 or above but letting some out will help with slow wheelies , keeps the bike stable while you are learning ..

Re: about to ride, couple questions

I was trying to learn wheelies on my stock 08 zx6r.. seemed pretty hard to get it up and consistent.. just went one down in the front and took it out today and that made a hell of a difference! I might do a 1 or 2 up in the back but I'm going to stick with this for now since I do alot of street riding.. I want to gear as little as possible.. and try to just learn how stunt it the way I'm going to ride it regularly with regular air pressure.. plus I still need to pick up a cage and subcage before I get too crazy..

Yeah, one of these years I might have the cash for an extra bike just for the lot.. But for now I only have this one and I'm going to keep it streetable.. I'm still gonna throw a cage on it. And I plan on picking up one of your subcages pretty soon.

Well i rocked the 62 on the death machine as i called it .. the gsxr. 01-

and it was all over the fuckn place.. that was str8 dangerous for me tyring to learn on that ****... got on some stock ****.. had to bump the idle up more but damn iw as like this is fuckn easy....... all my pie sprokets stay on the ******* wall now.. -

in my HONEST opinion you should learn to do coasters, bp **** all on stock gearing.. when u got ur break down and all that.. throw on a diff sprocket and start slowing them down.....

Dont change **** on ur bike but making it tougher.... and learn to use ur brake untill u hit Balance point.. when u got balance point down... worry about reducing tire pressure and getting your bike to turn in on some circles.....

you can learn whatever u want in ur own order.. i jus recommend not learning the hard way liek I did...

i tried to copy everything about all the good riders i knew.. so i got a 62 tooth sproket... reduced my air.. whole nine yard..
all it did was take me longer to learjn... Now i hit stock up if not 1 down in the front and plus 2-3 in the back - I still dont do circles..

( Thats me in the back.. thinking about how I could make my bike more like thad.. aka Thehates's so i could do what he could.. Reducing my air to that DID Not make me do spreaders!!!!)

But i still dont **** with the tire pressure because its jus things i dont need to woryr about now..

gearing, psi, adding a hand brake..

Learn the basics first.. Have friends around (Truck) and you will get to all the miniscule **** later..

+11

I've let out a little bit of air... but deffinitly not below the mark where it would effect my twistys... its just hard to rock correct Tire pressure on a brand new tire sometimes.. till u get that Cone as i call it burned down a bit
dude wtf is up with them bars on your bike they look like mini ape hangers

i personally dont think you did make it harder for your self , getting a bike slowed down on stock gearing and a fully inflated tire is harder then getting it slowed down with gearing and low pressure
