+1 leg strikes, knees, elbows are as if not more effective then haymakers and jabs and body shots wear guys down just as much as a shot to the jaw... I like kimbo but if all you have is a heavy hand you should be a boxer NOT a MIXXED martial artists 2 guys tryin to play rock-em sock-em robots isnt MMA... right now kimbo is too 1 dimensional he is known as a striker... so noone in there right mind is gonna stand there and duke it out knuckle to knuckle with him, thats just stupid.

 

and im not sayin that kimbo cant be a legit MMA fighter... same with brock lesnar, they were gonna come in and dominate the sport from the start... thye dont need excuses they need more experience... Kimbo got knocked out in 30 seconds by a 205lb dude with pink hair... and everyone made excuses for him... a right hook that could decapitate someone isnt enough to fight the top level guys in the world.

i think it was pretty obvious that he has gained some versatility in his fighting. thing is no matter how much he steps his game up, he's one of those guys that some ppl are never going to respect just cuz of how he got started.

 

anyone who has ever taken a knock to the shin, or had a thigh muscle cramp/contact spasm knows full well your legs can ******* drop you.

Its not cuz of how he got started cuz MANY fighters started the same way, street fighting. I know guys who have met Kimbo and tried to help him and Kimbo a year ago said straight out "I don't need to learn jiu jitsu, I'm just gonna go in there and knock fools out" as he was referring to the UFC. He may talk and act all humble on camera but he aint like that behind the cameras. Or at least he didn't act that way in front of the guys I know who were trying to help him become a better fighter.

 

ive never heard him called out on his ego, its always ppl saying how he's nothing but a street fighter and has no real skills and yada yah. and if he does have a big ego then he belongs right in the ufc with the rest of the big heads that are or were there cuz there is plenty of them. kimbo is a good fighter with potential to be a better fighter. i doubt he'll ever be great but who knows.

 

kimbo stepped up his ground game a lot from the show...

Now that was 100 times more exciting then the Kimbo vs Houston fight.

 

I didn't know about the scoring, but it makes sense, pound for pound, your legs can take more force.

which is not to say leg strikes aren't effective, because they can be brutal.

armchair perspective, I got a charlie horse from a quarter contact kick to the mid thigh and it wrecked my day. These guys are obviously on a whole different level.
