Anyone Seen XTREME BIKER?
Anyone Seen XTREME BIKER?
Its a 2 DVD set i picked up at Best Buy yesterday.
Its ALL Biketoberfest footage. Basicly just raw footage from biketoberfest put to some music with a lot of backwards stuff.
Anyone who stunted at the municipal stadium was in it.
Brandon & PBR, DUK, Redline, Jay Majors, Pat Stephens, Laura, Michah, etc etc many many more
Even showed Redline setting up thier tent, Dirty B and his chick, my bike, etc etc
NOT a good stunt vid, but a good raw footage of the day at the municipal stadium.
Anyone know anything about it?

Sweet I made the cover
. I still have no idea who made the video though. I wouldn't mind buying it, becuase that day was the most fun I ever had on 2 wheels. It was great to see all of the best riders out in the center stage giving it their all to please the audience.
Do you know where I can pick up a copy?

.I am sure it wouldn't be to hard to get ahold of the guys in charge that produced the video. Also, I am not sure how they got away with out having any riders sign a release form. That would be my only beef I have with the whole situation. I at least like to know or have a say in the matter if I am going to appear in a video. Good thing it wasn't titled "Stunters Gone Naked" or I would be contacting my lawyer right about now
. Rodg, I also agree with you on this one....
Jimmy, and everyone else should email this company, and let them know that they cannot just use everyones footage for free..... unless the company have/had something worked out with Glen for that event at Municipal Stadium last biketoberfest.
I'm am fairly positive that each rider signed everything away at that event before heading out to stunt in the waiver.

Copyright protection - issue video credentials
Here is a link to the complete list of items that these people are offering. They actually have a 2 DVD set and a 4 DVD set for sale featuring these videos. I would recommend a phone call and/or e-mail to the companies CEO (avaiable under company contact info) to inquire about the footage. For those who are featured in the video especially.

However, this is the risk taken when not regulating video footage at events. Specific video and photo credentials should be issued at events to help regulate this type of action by companies looking to make their own profit based on financial risk of others. It is as simple as a construction vest that designates who is allowed to video tape. If someone is caught taping without the proper credentials, confiscate the camera and/or film. It should be the sole property of the promoter / producer of the event.
These guys probably bought a ticket and filmed as much as they wanted, with nobody batting an eye. No control or copyright protection in place at the events, leaving no defensible position when video like this hits the mainstream shelves.
Is there any value in these freestyle events, and in the image of the riders that are featured in them? Absolutely! So why not protect that value, by implimenting proper credentials for photo and video personnel. That way there is control over image and copyright. Also post signs at the gate and through the facility that read "Video taping of event is not allowed". Put it in the waiver at the front gate. This will also give you a defensible position in court if you ever want to dispute the release of a video like the one discussed above, and help you recoup that value if the rules (or copyright) is broken.
