I really like my SI tailsaver, but your design is really cool though and if I ever need another one I'd strongly consider it. The only thing I don't like is the motorcycle being used as the I, but that's just me being picky...

F4i tails break easily, especially if you have the end cut off for a flat bar- they get even more flimsy. My current tail is fiberglassed- the glass, hardner, roller, and resin cost about 35$ Also, Putting the glass on the inside was a shitty job to do, messy, smelly and really hard not to get fiberglass all over the paint.

As far as safety do you really think that out of all the parts that can hit you its an increased risk? it doesnt protrude out so i don't really see it causing any more injury.

the risk is very legit. when you flip over a stoppie the first thing that hits you in the back is your back seat. how much pressure does it take to compress the foam in a seat? its is a very likely scenario for a tail saver to smash into your spine when you flip over a stoppie. so i guess the question really is, how serious about stopppies are you compared to how much you want to keep your tail from breaking i like my spine.

I feel the same way. As long as they fit below the seat, I don't think they're the biggest threat in the event of a stoppie going wrong. Personally, I'm more worried about the 400lbs of motorcycle following me to the ground.

Ok. So it seems like a good amount of people want it for the 05-06 636. Now I just need to get my hands on the bike to design the prototype. Anyone here with that bike live in Los Angeles who is willing to let me use their bike or a few hours? I will give you a Tail-Saver for free.
