Just because your bike is geared
Just because your bike is geared
does not meen it has less miles then indicated. Even though your bike doesnt go as far with high gearing does not meen the RPM's are not turning the same as with the old gearing. Just because your bike doesnt "roll" as far at the same rpm doesnt not meen the motor didnt turn just as many times as it used too.

Re: Just because your bike is geared
technically it doesn't matter what your gearing, or what your riding style, mileage is mileage plain and simple.
If you gear your bike, and don't fix the speedo and it's off, then yes, your bike has less miles then indicated.
Or just compare to racers, who keep their bike at almost redline their bikes entire lift, but run stock gearing, their mileage is true correct

Re: Just because your bike is geared
What problem? Tons of people who are selling there stuntbikes always say it has less miles because it is geared. Not a problem, a discussion.
Re: Just because your bike is geared
motor spins twice as fast than before and puts half as many miles so mileage would be just about right and that was just an example cause i no someone will bust out gearing ratios to try to prove it wrong
Re: Just because your bike is geared
plain and simple. if your odometer is electronically engine sensor based then geared or not then that IS the true and correct milage... unless its a swapped speedo. the gearing effects wear and tear on the motor as far as 1st/2nd gear tricks and engine braking, thats what puts the extra pressure on parts. the only distinction is that motor milage will be different from the parts or rolling chassis milage.

.................................................. ....................................... who cares?
get like 5 bikes together set ur trip and ride 100 miles and then stop and look at the tripometers they will all be different, bike speedos and odometers arent that accurate to begin with especially the faster you go.

no tire is EXACTLY the same height even tho it says on the side wall. no tire is an exact same match so yes even two bike that have stock gearing that make the same trip over long periods of time can be slightly different but this is over a long period of time of course take it or leave it
