My fork seals are only lasting 1 day of stunting on my 05 cbr 600rr after the honda shop replaces them. WHy is this happening? On my 07 gsxr 600 they have not blown yet.


Is anyone else experiencing the same thing? I am sure to put stand ups down soft, the only wheelies i come down hard on are tank wheelies and highchairs. I know the forks are inverted compared to other bikes. DOes this have any effect?

are u saying they are or arent inverted??????
hmmm.....could b setiment,,,, tubes need polishing......try seal mate.......i an replacing my right seal this week as well.......
if it starts to leak slowly u can spray wd 40 to swell the seal....but itll only last a few days to buy u time to get to a shop....

 

if there leaking after being replaced then they were not replaces properly

a complete rebuild will help with this. the harsh conditions that come with stunting and especially if you tie down your bike tight... put alot of strain on forks.. they slam down hard and whatnot... yadadadaaaa... its worth evfery penny.
if you ride dirt or the track even, you know how much properly tuned suspension helps! its the same with stuntriding!

I have a 06 with inverted forks, I replaced the seals myself 3 months ago and no leaks. Somebody did yours wrong.

 

you did seals, bushings and all right? you cant change just the seals and not the bushings or it will just blow out again and again...

 

If you did not replace the dust shields it can cause this. also riding in sand or offroad conditions will prematurely wear on ur seals. most seals are comprimised by sand on the tubes. I try to clean the lower fork tube before i ride every time.
