X-Games 2010
Re: X-Games 2010
my point is not that skateboards are as dangerous, or can do as much damage, or even that they can hurt others... my point is simply, when the sport started...it was seen by the public much like stunt riding is now, and it has grown to be a recongized mainstream sport and now in about every city there are places set out and designated for people to do just that. You wouldnt see it as a major acomplishment to see what you like to do to have a set aside spot for you to ride?i'm still in shock that the little town i live in hosts KOS every year, but it wasnt because the cat putting it on was sitting around telling everyone it will never be a sport or accepted. he has pushed it, and it is a pretty good size event in a town, that doesnt much even like sportbikes.

Re: X-Games 2010
how many ppl kill other ppl with dirtbikes? do ppl even ride dirtbikes ont eh streets? other than enduros i think no. not alot anyways. drag racing has been done since the car was invented. back when they didnt even have roads. they used to drag race on beach strips. racing is has been the most popular sport since its invention in the late 1890'- early 1900's.

yes, thank you for that....i wasnt aware that skateboards arent capable of those speeds.

skateboarding is so mainstream now that 8 year olds run around the parks with plastic boards cuz they want to be like tony or their big bro. 8 year olds cant ride bikes. and the only reason they agreed to make these parks is so they have a place to stick the "delinquants" (as they do call us) so that they dont bother by standards.
Re: X-Games 2010
i love your posts...shows the diversity of opinions.
seen any top riders compete in 3 minutes lately? i prolly do circles for about 30 seconds total and most are not even the same size or speed. and if it was at X, it would prolly only be 90 seconds...pretty confident that there are a bunch of riders who can keep even YOUR attention for a mere 90 seconds!
still comparing it to flatland bmx?
haha, i think that issue's been addressed....not really thesame thing at all and there are distinctive differences.
i love hate and pessimism, i think its funny...especially when you just keep reaching

Sure, circles suck to watch for 10 minutes STRAIGHT
but I don't think I've ever seen a competition run where someone only ripped circles

Re: X-Games 2010
It's a losing argument I have my opinion and you have yours, I respect your riding ability and you knowledge, yet I still don't think this will ever be a legit leagal sport. When it hits it big as you guys think it will I guess I'll eat my words then. Oh and it's very close to flatland BMX, and there is alot of people who will agree with me.

But I bet the extent of his 'stunt' abilities are limited to endless straight line wheelies, and long endo's
LoL can you eat like half of em? Did you think 5 years ago that stunting would even make a demo in the x-games?!
I think alot of people are going to eating there words soon because even getting a demo is a HUGE accomplishment and just proves that this sport is getting noticed....

I'm still new to stunt riding, new to bikes in general...
But the first stunt video I seen, urban street bike warriors one.. And that was shot in what, 2000? 01? 02??
Just watching that video, and seen that it has blown up to today is amazing..
When I watched that video, seeing teach and other riders, I was amazed..
Now I'm doing the same **** in that video, and more, and people like teach, guru, and EVERYONE else are pushing this sport WAY further...
IMO stunt riding will only grow.. Once people see what CAN be done on a sport bike, its easier for them to learn..
There is NO ******* way I would be doing idle, no handers, or circles today if it wasn't for other riders doing that **** before me...
If I didn't know it was possible, why would I attempt it and think its possible?
But when I see someone kill circles and make it look easy as ****, then I think "hey I can do it"
Tell me none of you watch nitro circus and don't get the SLIGHTEST hint that "hey I could backflip"
I watch travis and think "damn that looks easy"... Yet I ride a 150f and the best air I get is about 4-5 foot LOL

Re: X-Games 2010
You just made a point for "US" LoL You said it yourself.... Back in the day, they raced on beach strips!! Guarantee that **** was illegal, and look at drag racing today!! Same thing can happen with sport bikes..... We started on the freeways, and look at where we are now! Only good things to come... I know this.... Im psychic!!
