that is fn sweet!

that i think would be the only way i would run a thumb throttle. the design looks like you have full twist throttle, but if you want you can use the thumb throttle. That would be genius!

Re: thumb throttles

its actually a hell of alot easier to hang on with a thumb throttle ... you dont have to worry about twisting the throttle if you are going off or something... im gonna fix how twitchy mine is lol... JB i found another thumb throttle for it ... i actually learned balance point in about 2 hours when i put my thumb throttle on ...

Actually I can. It is really not hard at all on a quad. They are so easy to stunt there really is no point. catching 12 on a quad is nothing, and they are just as easy to hold onto for me. I also do a lot of weight training and have plenty of upper body/ grip strength to not have to worry about the difference in holding on.

Re: thumb throttles

TRUE if you cant hold on with a thumb throttle theres something wrong... right now i am running a moose racing throttle... but i bought a factory throttle off of a YZF 450 and it is a hell of a lot better setup just waiting for it to come in... heres what im running right now

Like I said. It is not hard.

If you have a problem with it then there is something wrong. there isn't that much of a difference. This is just a personal preference... thumb throttle or twist.

The YFZ Throttle is a pain in the *** btw. They are hard as **** to push compared to every other throttle. Mine is a bitch and always has been. this has always been a complaint on the YFZ. It gets even worse when I converted my R6.

More Power to you though. But my thumb gets Cramped after just a few minutes of street riding. Your bike may be different though.

No see, it IS harder to hang onto, that's a FACT.

Now weather or not it will affect you when stunting, or weather or not you can stunt with it, I'm not arguing.. Hell it might be gravy with a thumb throttle. Personally I leave the dirt bars on a dirt bike, and the thumb throttles on a quad..

But stating you can hang on with exactly the same force? BULL ****!

Re: thumb throttles

yfz throttles suck *****. when i raced yfzs, they had honda throttles on em, and by far the most comfortable is one off a honda 450R(04,05), 400ex, or even a dam recon, they are all the same. go to yur local dealership and just try em out.

+1, I was just seeing how easy it was to do when I put one off my YFZ on my bike. I will be purchaseing one from Honda before long.

Re: thumb throttles

I have had a yfz 450 throttle on my f4i for 3 years and I had one on my r6 before that I love it. I have no problem holding on. I have more control with it.

Re: thumb throttles

On my streeters i run billet TT's i got off ebay they said design'd for larger bore quads, i don't care for them very much.

My main stuntbike (at any given time) has always run my "lucky" thumb throttle its the setup off my old 87 yama warrior. It loox like hell, but i've always loved the feel of it, and the the orginal TT i swapped for the first time back in tha day.....

As for all the mixed feelings, i have to say to each his own. Some people will never be able to ride rite with a TT, some people its key. Back when i first started to learn to stunt i use2 catch so much **** for rockin a TT, people would say, u'll never be able to do this, and that and blah blah blah. Now i am BY FAR not the best rider and prolly will never be, but i can hold my own, and the TT has never held me back. WELL WAIT there has been one trick that the TT has proven to be a lil tricky and thats 1 handed chainsaw burnouts, but u twist throttle guys can have them!

Re: thumb throttles

quads are gay for stunting! the words quad, and stunting, should never be used in the same sentence. my girlfriend jumped on a quad and was rockin slow wheelies, while using the foot brake, in a matter of 10 min. dont get me wrong, i have a quad, and its a lot of fun, but i would never say that i stunt on it!
