Re: Calling aLL NY stunters and stunteresses
id prefer some other swingarm that can fit a 190 a little better
Re: Calling aLL NY stunters and stunteresses
Maybe, maybe not.you still haven't explained why you think a Tygershark is a good cage. It's heavy. Doesn't flex
.it applies a significant amount of torque to a clearly weak stress point which was never designed to take a hit. Every 636 that I have seen get beat up with a Tygershark cracks the frame in a relative short time. I know you have more knowledge on fabrication then I do.I only been working on heavy equipment for the past 13years

Well actually the steel that is used in his cages is a cold rolled DOM steel. Cold rolled steel usually has some memory to it. So in reality the solid tube can flex probably 1/2 and go right back to normal. Plus the rubber dampers inside of the spring absorb SOOOO much of the impact.
Now if you look at the fohfab cage, its real thin cage tubing. Real basic and caveman design. Welding to the kickstand sucks because eventually it will damage the kickstand and the bolts like it did on neals bike. And what if you bend the cage, then you need a new cage AND kickstand??
636 frame will break with ANY cage. If fohfab cage was so amazing that it didnt break the cage. Then he'd be making a ton of money on those cages..
Re: Calling aLL NY stunters and stunteresses
And in reference to the weight issue. From everything i have observed in stunting. no one really cares much about weight savings. example : 929 forks are heavier then f4i forks. twite frame is heavier then stock alloy frame. extra fans added to radiator , steel subframes, extra calipers, extra master cylinders. All of this adds weight..

find me a quote where I once ever said I have more knowledge than you
I started typing out a whole long response to you but there's no point lmao. We just dont agree and thats cool. When my frame breaks you can say I told you so and I'll say I could break a frame with any cage on just like I did with my F4i. So take that.

Re: Calling aLL NY stunters and stunteresses
The spring is nothing but snake oil it is just there to give you that fuzzy feeling kinda like the guys at bike nite that buy the top rated tires and only wear them down the middle. In. Actuality on a truly hard hit the slider jams up and actually applies more leverage on the frame .funny that you bought up fohfab cuz I never mentioned it .but I will say the fohfab cage is. Lighter, does not stick out as far. Designed to. Direct the force of. Impact to the strongest part of the frame. I have yet to see a. Properly. Maintained. 636 crack its frame with a fohfab cage. Imo I would rather replace a cage then a frame, just for you anthony I will make sure my kickstand is removable when I get my 636finished, cuz we all know how. Expensive kickstands are. Roman is an artist and isn't really interested in pumping out cages on a jig.caveman sums up the2 point design which was later bandaided with the cross. Brace. Sure it comes with a warranty, so. Do. Midas. Mufflers. Fohfab or. Not I can't see why anyone would want to put such a poorly designed cage like a tygershark. On there. Bike, its better suited as a pushbar
Youre right the spring doesnt do much at all. BUT the rubber damper INSIDE of the spring does ALOT. it absorbs most of that stress from the impact. You never touched base on the type of metals used on the cages..

lmao.
