It's probably under the "devices with removable storage" section and you're just overlooking it. It wouldn't be in the same section where the C drive would be (assuming he hasn't changed the drive letter). Look next to where it shows the floppy drive and cd/dvd rom.
I didnt see this post but Im looking now. I just went to my computer where the drive would normally pop up and its not there. but it does show the option to eject the drive.

never mind - I was lookin right at it. Its not showing up there for whatever reason just the d drive which is his dvd drive.

No clue with Win7... but on XP it's in the same category as your floppy/cdrom/usb sticks unless you're in classic view.


Try this, right click my computer, click manage. From there, select the storage dropdown and choose Disk management. See if you can see it there. Should be the same on win 7

tryin that now and then im goin to bed. almost got cs5 fully installed drew so then id have 2 things left to do. lemme see if what you're saying works. ima also hook up his hard drive to my computer and see if it works. maybe somethings fucked up w the drive

im assuming this is it - he has disk 0 which is his c drive and then he has disk 1 which has 465gb of unallocated space but it shows its online but has no drive letter

Yes, when you format it "erases" everything. But if it is showing as 465gb of unallocated space it sounds like it isn't formatted currently and therefor has nothing to lose
