I put a msr raptor on my 636 a couple weeks ago. I was trying to adjust how far the lever sticks out yesterday but couldnt get it to stay cuz it kept pullin the stop thingy in so i just took it out. on my way to work this morning i had the lever pulled in and felt something "give." now the clutch seems to stay in the friction zone. i used the cable adjuster and tightened it which seemed to help but wtf happened?

 

cable clutch, am I correct? cable probably came apart. the more strands break the more it "gives"...

 

thats what it felt like.....the cable snapping/coming apart. that would also seem the case since when i tightened up the cable adjuster, it seemed to engage again although it still felt weak. thing is, i can still see the clutch arm moving when i pull in the lever.

 

could it be something inside the msr? ive read about the arrow thing breaking. could that be it? help me out guys.

 

check at the clutch cover too.. Mine was tearing at the lever though

 

it wasnt progressive. i was completely holding it in and then it just slipped into the friction zone.

if there were barnett clutch springs for a zx10 in there, could something have happened there? my clutch was hard as hell till i put the msr on it and my mechanic kept asking about the clutch springs.....how it was a popular mod on the 636.
