Re: Started repainting my F4i again...

Thanks for the compliment and happy b-day from Stockholm!!

OK guys....Here's the good, the bad, and the ugly...

the good.... I got the tailsection done, and I'm out of paint for now.

the bad.... I decided against flames cuz it's ben done to death and I wanted to try to use lines and shapes to maybe make the tail look a little more svelte, or slim like my gixxer tail. I think it was a sucess and created the illusion that I was goin for.

Whatchya think??

NOW.... The ugly..... I'm not sure WTF happened! I squeezed the tail section back on, went in the house and ate a plate of spaghetti... then came out side and a crack had formed right by the scrape bar!!! WTF!!! I was like OK... so then I tried to adjust it's position and look as to why it was like it was, and this was the end result!!! I'm not sure why it felt so damn tight to begin with?? IT came off like normal and went on a little snug, but I was afraid of messin my work up.....
I'm soooooooooooooooooooooo pissed!

I got it all bolted back up where it needs to go.. now I guess I just zip tie that end piece like stitches and paint them white, just like the sides where it bolts to the subframe are ziptied and painted too!! Could you guys see that??

This sucks.. what would ya'll do to fix it? I mean I don't care a whole-whole lot, I just want to get idle and NTH on lock by the time it starts getting cold out to be honest.. as long as the bike looks good on film (photo/vid) that's all that matters right?? LOL
If I can ride out of my scrapes and coast for 50-100feet also by then I'll be happy, and that's regardless as to weather my tailsection is in two or 37 pieces!!!

still though..... all that work and it ****** cracked on me outta nowhere...

IN that first pic with my seats on the bike... I took it from about 35 yards away, and it has that crack in it in that shot. Couldn't tell could ya?? It's pretty hard see it unless you get up on the bike, but still...

nice avatar!

good idea bro!! I ****** brain farted on that one for a second...
I was stressed out like the other day with my clutch and ****...

Lance's dad messes with making and judging model airplanes contests and **** all the time. Lance had trophies as tall as he was in Jr. high for that ****.... IN fact they always fly them out of the sodfield out here on our farm. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....
I should enlist his help maybe. Although, I wonder if Jeremy has all the stuff needed to do that? I would get the epoxy or resin or whatever... but I'm not sure how much of the fabric stuff or whatever that I'd need or where I'd even get that ****?
Time to do some research...

Towlieee, you online?

Oh BTW ******.. I know how you feel about the forks, but do you like the rest of it or not?? didn't say...

Now you make me spell it out for you youngin... LOL
I will give you **** until you turn left ****** cuz it's all I got!! LOL

NOW.... right turn Clyde! LOL

thanks for all the compliments guys.. I like the rims too. I noticed how in pictures of me riding it the bike just kinda was all washed out cuz everything was so black...
I almost did the frame and swingarm and **** in that color too, but that gunmetal lookin color on the frame was just enough to break it up, and it looks way better in person. You can tell if you look at the subframe cuz I haven't painted it yet and it's still factory finish...

More progress pics still to come!!

Fiberglass is pretty easy really, just messy if you drop it on ****

buy a 32oz bottle of fiberglass resin from walmart for like $15, you can also get some fiberglass matt there for cheap too (like $10), a box of latex gloves, a bag of foam paint brushes (like $2 for 12), and some plastic cups to mix the glass in

Then you just cut strips of the mat out, sand the back side of the tail with like 40-80 grit, mix up the resin, brush the resin on the tail, lay a layer of glass, more resin tell its SOAKED, more glass, more resin, more glass... After you get however many layers you want, smooth it out with your hands so there aren't any bubbles and all the mat is soaked in resin...

oh ya make sure you don't get the resin on ANYTHING you don't want it to stay on.. Don't get it on your hands, your hair, your carpet, the wall, your kid

It sounds like a lot of work, but its not bad, and it'll save your tail from breaking!

You saw mine where I stand, got about 15 layers right there lol.... Solid as ****! If your just wanting the tail to be solid so it doens't break from stupid **** like mounting it, then 3-5 layers over the entire back side of the tail, with 7-10 around where you stand, will make that ****** SOLID.. But don't put toooo much fiberglass, or it won't flex enough to go back on the bike!
