i think despite all the angry drivers....the streets is whats needed for growth.....you can get ten guys to kill the streets once and show a thousand times more people than if you rode just lots and comps for a year......

everything has potential...but like teach says this sport has noise danger smoke and rubber ya know...people need to ride like that....while riders appreciate the ability to do 20 circles on idle...its boring as hell to watch.....if you snap those circles around and make smoke and ride all crazy and loud and "FUN" again...the sport will be more entertaining.....

my point is not that i dont work hard, bc believe me i do and you have to in order to make it...BUT i've never looked at my life in such a manner that i must go to work to make 100g's and have a wife, kid, porche, etc....i LOVE what i do so much that i would do it regardless of $$, both riding and teaching...i don't consider either one of those a job really, but that's just my opinion...i chose to do what i love and make it work.

and how much do you make? guess what, i dont care! am i a fool bc i choose to make 34k teaching? i hardly think so.

i made 34k before taxes my last year teaching....i worked 160 days of school tops....i was good at it, really good; and i'll be good at it when i return to it. i say my adult life, bc that didnt start until i graduated college and got my first job teaching that next year.

i make SIGNIFICANTLY more money riding than teaching, and to me, honestly, i feel rich sometimes! lol i have full dental, vision, health, and life insurance and i still have my 401k from school....but you know what, i never really plan to retire bc i dont ever plan on having a job...i plan on making a living doing something i LOVE, so quitting to sit in the sun is not a goal for me when i turn 65...i'll just be 65 doing what i want to do with my life, just like i am now at 30.

kane's post is dead on!

ok first off, i work harder than anyone you know, stuntbling was started for me and anyone i ride with because i am a 5th genaration jeweler and i can do that, stuntbling does just fine, it pays for all my stunt trips i do attend and i get to chill with my boys i dont see often.. fact of the matter is stunting has reached its peak and it aint goin g any further.. i hope it does , but it wont... no offense KANE, but in this industry its not what you know, its who you BLOW, your not the best rider prolly not even close, but you have an image and right place right time.. im not hateing its just the truth.. there is so much talent out there that will never be rewarded for what they can do, whatever life goes on.. you do have a factory ride yes, so then why doesnt 1/4 of the riders that can do everything you can do and more AND BETTER have factory rides? why? they should.. stuntriding has given me more than any dollar is ever worth,, you forget im team RETAIL, i pay for everything and wouldnt have it any other way because i do it for the love, i love to ride i love to get chased now and then, i love riding for what its given me broken bones and all... tv shows, big ******* deal they gave parking meter maids a show so that aint saying much.... wow i wrote alot, im gonna finsh this doobie....

wasn't mine, i dont toke!

mary's the bomb, tell her whats up....and THANKS player!

dont forget that in any sport, the ones who succeed have a little bit of everything: talent, hardwork, support, and luck. miss one and you prolly wont make it, just like in any other sport. I'll always defend my little ****** friend kane on matters like this because while he may not be the best rider on a bike, he works hard, has a good business sense, has the support, and of course, is fortunate enough to put himself in the right place at the right time....most riders trying to make it nowadays lack the business knowledge, determination and hard work that it takes to make it....

see ya next time foolio!

There is no need to rage against stunting just because you couldn't figure out how to capitalize on your skill set.

With such short-lived gumption and narrow-minded ideology, perhaps adhering strictly to a spoon-fed 9-5 work schedule is the best path for you.

no no no bud, you are misunderstanding what i said, Stunting lost my interest, But is easy to see where it peaked and that was long before i chose to try it out.

Im the example of any one can stunt, I had no sportbike expierence before my short live good time I had with stuning.

I will like to visit this thread just to remind myself that this will remain what it is, "a kids good time"

mines a 12-5 and I dig it

I still ride bikes but I dont wander from lame lot to the next, When i started stunting i learned something about bikes and myself.

when I hung it up I was reborn.

I still got parts to sell so I will lurk around here untill they have all sold

good for you and your rebornness (sp)....to me that sounds similar to quitting, but whatever, ride because you love it.

not to burst your bubble but you're not an example of 'anyone can stunt' in the sense you thing you are. you were not near the top level really...you learned the things that CAN be learned pretty easily with as much info as is available nowadays. that's kind of the appeal, is that while you can do the sport right off the street, the top guys are still absolutely amazing in their bike control

i can go pick up the basics of fmx pretty easily too...

good luck with waht you do, ride for the love

Agreed, I was never a top rider but the sad thing was that even I was doing things (fig 8 hc circles, no hand stand up and sit down circles, stall jumps, massive combos etc etc not really important just examples)

that you could never and will never do, pretty pathetic that you dont have any where near the control as guys like Lin Krazy kyle Shin Bubash the list goes on and on, the top guys have excellent control of their bikes, so when will you ride like them? the answer never you have peaked to where you are at now and thats okay cause your having fun

I was a decent stunt rider for a weekend warrior from a rainy climate and yes the example of anyone can stunt. And yes its a HB and a sprocket and time to ride anyone will be there. nothing you guys do is cool to watch after seeing it after 15 minutes.

Re: Stunt riding will never go anywhere.

stuntriding is just one big show-off deal.. Stuntriders including myself are nothing but show-offs, and im not saying thats a bad thing, its just what it is..
that's no more true than if you had said it for any other sport or activity that exists. sure some people are show-boaters but others are into it because it's FUN and challenging.. amongst other reasons.

with an activity like stunting you are simply more exposed to the "hype" and "cool" bs that takes over the small minded
