I was a decent stunt rider for a weekend warrior from a rainy climate and yes the example of anyone can stunt. And yes its a HB and a sprocket and time to ride anyone will be there. nothing you guys do is cool to watch after seeing it after 15 minutes.

You are retarded. I hope teach doesn't even acknowledge this skewed attempt to stir the pot.

LOL...I am mad at his comment and it doesn't even have anything to do with me! All of the above mentioned riders are SICK no doubt. The thing thats entertaining about Teach is his bike control. He has mastered most disciplines of 2 wheeled riding, expert road racer, lots of dirt experience, track and trail, and I have seen him do some things that pretty much leave me puzzled! Oh well, not really my argument, so I am letting go of Teaches nuts now.....I figured I would get that comment out of the way, because I am sure someone is going to say it!

Oh yeah....5.0's haven't been cool since Ice Ice Baby!

and how much do you make? guess what, i dont care! am i a fool bc i choose to make 34k teaching? i hardly think so.

i made 34k before taxes my last year teaching....i worked 160 days of school tops....i was good at it, really good; and i'll be good at it when i return to it. i say my adult life, bc that didnt start until i graduated college and got my first job teaching that next year.

i make SIGNIFICANTLY more money riding than teaching, and to me, honestly, i feel rich sometimes! lol i have full dental, vision, health, and life insurance and i still have my 401k from school....but you know what, i never really plan to retire bc i dont ever plan on having a job...i plan on making a living doing something i LOVE, so quitting to sit in the sun is not a goal for me when i turn 65...i'll just be 65 doing what i want to do with my life, just like i am now at 30.

kane's post is dead on!
i understand what you are saying. im not some 19 year old running my mouth, about things that i have no clue about. i am in my mid 30's. i go to my business every day in my dockers, and dress shirt, i take care of my business, then usually its off to the baseball field, because i am a little league coach. when im finished, usually about 9 pm. i throw the gear on, get my bike, and hit the lot! so believe me when i tell you (KANE!) i do work brother. TEACH, i am not putting you down one bit, for wanting to put teaching on hold, and pursue a stunting career. hell you got your education to fall back on if it does not work out. all i am saying is that their are a lot of dreamers on this site, that think that they are going to be a pro stunter one day making bank, and its just not going to happen. my best friend jeff binder, was a pro stunt rider back in 02, 03. he put his schooling on hold for stunt riding, and all it did was get him a broken back, lots of bills, and a false hope. since then he has gone back to school, and is a year away from his medical degree. you want to talk about work KANE? this guy gets up at 6 am and goes to school, then its off to the gym, because he is also a body builder, then its off to the lot for maybe 1 hr of practice, then to work at the hospital at night. oh, did i also mention weekends at the army national guard? and i will tell you one thing. he can do just about anything on his bike, his bag of tricks are endless. i guarantee you, he would be a top 5 rider in this country, if he thought their was a chance that he could pay the bills doing it. he does it now because he loves to do it, but at the end of the day, its just a hobby for him.

Re: Stunt riding will never go anywhere.

Sure there are guys who drop everything and go after stuntriding full time. 99% of them aren't going to make it. But if nobody did it, stuntriding wouldn't be progressing. Think about music. How many musicians spend years trying to make it big and nothing happens? If nobody took the chance, we'd never have great music. It is the rare exception that somebody will make it big by playing it safe. Let people do what they want.

Re: Stunt riding will never go anywhere.

the problem with this thread is that it got a little focused on teach! im not hating on him! he did it the correct way. he went to school and got an education, and now has put it on hold for stunt riding. thats fine, because he knows if it fails he has his teaching to fall back on. my point is that teach should be encouraging these young kids to follow your dream, but also have a back up plan, because their is a strong chance that they will never get the opportunity to be a pro rider, with sponsors, making enough money to live on.

ps. see everyone at xdl in indy. im glad i live close, and wont have to worry about a hotel. good luck with that because of moto gp on the 14th.

I dont disagree with u and this post at all...I just like to play devils advocate and show people there is a different way of living

Boogie, u r trully a douchebag! And I dont even have to point out why.

Definately u made the right decision to quit riding bc u were an average rider trying to b bigtime....and we all remember ur xdl run! LOL. And to think I was actually kinda nice to you! Haha

its a shame that the guys crying bout this sport is guys who were weekend warriors , thought they were gonna get rich quik , but that didn't happen ... to me its laziness and that wana-be mentality... leave the sport and shut up .

Re: Stunt riding will never go anywhere.

here's what happened with j-boogie..

around 6 months ago he went to xdl excited.. thinking he would do well with the big dogs. i think i recall him saying he thought he might even place. he tanked.. made a bunch of excuses about his bike running bad etc. what really happened is he choked under pressure.. because performing in competitions is obviously a lot tougher than your neighbourhood lot. that's not to say he would have won or even placed had he ridden well anyway.

after that i guess he decided to quit, and instead of going out gracefully he seems to be really bitter that he just wasn't as good as he thought he was. based on what i saw he was a great rider but his ego got the best of him. i guess he forgot that there is always someone better than you, no matter how good you are. garnished with a bit of douche-bag

so j-boogie be a man about it and quit acting like a fuken baby
