new, not so good clutch

new, not so good clutch
i just put a new clutch on my bike and everything seems to be how it is supposed to be... but for some reason when i go to hook up the clutch cable... everything is adjusted all the way out and there is still slack on the cable so the clutch wont disengage. I didn't have problems with the old clutch so wtf do i need to do different.

Re: new, not so good clutch
are you properly adjusting it AT the clutch cover, and at the clutch lever?
99.999% of these posts end up, 2 days later, the guy posting back up saying "figured it out, was adjusting hte clutch cable the wrong way"

Re: new, not so good clutch
as a starting point I always put the lower engine adjustment about halfway, like set the nut at half the thread and tighten. Then with one finger pull the cluth in and begain adjusting the thread in( righty tighty) untill you have about a 1/8 inch or size of a nickel off slack. hope that makes sense.

yea. I'm pretty sure i didn't hook something up right when i was fixing my bike a few months back. I did find a blown fuse for the radiator but i replaced the fuse and it still did not work. I imagine i'm just going to have to pay some motherfcker to fix the clutch and the radiator.
and on a side note... i think the shift arm isn't in the right place and that is causing the slack in the clutch cable. I htink this because while the guy who was putting the clutch on broke the shift arm trying to force it to go where it did not need to be.
