Re: Inconsistant Idle on 03 636

when my tps sensor went the bike rode fine until 7k then it broke up and wouldnt rev up any more. but when my vacuum line would get knocked off the idle would be inconsistent, especially when hot

Sounds like your throttle bodies are gapped off the motor. 03-04 kawi's are known, least in my neck of the woods, for popping off (just a little) during a crash, making the idle go to ****. check it out.

Re: Inconsistant Idle on 03 636

So.....

I tried to fix this piece tonight. Pulled the airbox and checked the TPS, or secondary throttle sensor. By voltage, it is ok. I discovered the choke was stuck open a little bit, and the throttle was also sticking with built up gumk. I ran it sitting in my garage, and it no longer tried to stall, so I thought all was well.

I took it around the block, riding like a normal person, and it seemed ok. didn't want to stall, and it was consistant.

But pulling idle on a wheelie it still sucks ***. If it drops down low, to under 1.5k, it takes too long to get back up to where the idle is set. I kinda thought it was in my head, so i fired up my f4i and that thing pulls like a tractor compared to the 636. The 636 takes its sweet time to get back up to idle. I'm gettin tired of this kawi already.

This thing is pissin me off.

on my old 06 i had the idle started ******* up on me once. i rode it for awhile like that and it got worse worse , imean it got bad! then the battery started going dead and the main fuse would start to blow when it got hot . i couldnt put another fuse in it with out it blowing until the bike cooled down completely. it turn out be the stator was bad . i put anew one in and walla all good again

Re: Inconsistant Idle on 03 636

It has nothing to do with stator ....its related to some sensors or bad fuel.

You should check your map sensor out.

Re: Inconsistant Idle on 03 636

This problem REALLY sucks cuz you would never notice it as a normal rider. You only experience it when it bogs down low, it takes too long to get back up to the set idle.

TPS sensor on your throttle bodies! I have had to deal with it twice!
Exactly what your talking about.. Did everything first then it was my TPS..

Also check the valve that comes off the airbox and go's to your flogger valves. Blow in the hose and it should only work one way if you can blow air and suck air then its done. That was also the deal on mine. If that is the fact and you don't have an extra laying around like me then do the clean air mod and that will take care of that.. And you should be $$$$$$$

Re: Inconsistant Idle on 03 636

check the vacuum lines on the throttle bodies, there are 2 sensors on the front of the throttle bodies. the one on the right should a have a vacuum line hooked to it. when mine got knocked offf it did exactly this. i would def be lookin for a vacuum line.

+1
also if you tighten the throttle bodies or air box to tight it can cause a gap in the seal..

Do you get the sensor from the dealer??? Part number??

http://www.ronayers.com/

Check out the Fiche

For all your part numbers..

Check the flogger valve before ordering it. Take the T off and take it off your air box try the blowing to see if thats the problem 1st
So you dont spend money if you dont have too.
Hope that helps..

I appreciate the offer, but I can't run your minty piece! I suck, especially after I haven't even ridden for like a month. I'd feel terrible if I scratched that gem.

Ok. I'll pull the airbox again and take a look before ordering.

The Kleen air mod is done on this bike.

I did the voltage check on the TPS, but everyone keeps saying that so it might be the cuprit.

Dam! That **** is $116 dollars too!!
